HWE SILO GONE: Players to be banned again ?

Ok .... GGS just messed up AGAIN.

Well, what's new?

Ok guys, brase yourselves ... will we ALL be banned this time?

Lately, if we participate in an event and buy gold, use seaweed etc .... we seem to be losing much more than we put in.

Plus ... we stand the chance of winning the jackpot - GET BANNED for NO legitimate reason at all.

GGS,
Who is running your show at the moment? Are all the execs on vacation? Are your primary school toddler cousins running the show?
Please be aware that player disgruntlement is growing. The MERGER affecting your decisions?

OMG! If I was the party to merge with GGS, I would runnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!

I have never seen a company more out of touch with it's customers than GGS. They run "surveys" and afterwards implement stuff players do not want. Yet, they allow themselves the fable of saying that the players voted for that particular piece of nonsense they added.

MMMM ... your time has come. We are all looking for other, better and more TRUSTWORTHY games.

I agree Farmer100. Will it be time for us to ban GGS? Months of excuses, which do not lead to anything! Why activate events that can not be completed? Stop GGS, and solve problems, rather than worsening an already disastrous situation. Our patience is running out ...
  • Exactly, ape-regina. Also, I appreciate your valuable comment.

We put up with months of excuses, incompetence etc.

Yet, they are quick to swing the hatchet and ban innocent players at the push of a button.

    Fair? NO

I agree, we have been playing the game for years and we have also invested REAL money in the game. They are now throwing our money in the ocean, so to speak .... or ... having lovely vacations at OUR expense .... whilst  incompetent interns run the show.

Let's look at the reality of things:

We are still here. Demonstrating that the excuses of GGS are accepted. We have repeatedly renewed our trust, continuing to play, continuing to spend our money, real, to buy gold.

GGS continues to promise things it does not keep. Continue to send events that create problems. Continue to apologize promising that things will change. But nothing has changed. And it is wrong to think that we are satisfied by "compensations" that even remotely don't  repay us for commitment, time, and gold spent.
If GGS really wants to solve things, take advantage of the Christmas holidays period to solve the old ones, and the new bugs, without sending events that do not work.

Now we are playing in uncertainty.

We do not know whether to participate in the events, because we do not know when they will end, and if we will receive the prizes. We do not know whether to collect our boats, or not. Because the programmed Fish HWE is replaced by the HWE, and vice versa ...
If we collect, and sell products, there is a risk that because of a bug, we are accused of impropriety, and banned. Today we received the silver coins of the world championship. Who knows when we will receive the newly concluded HWE awards.

I no longer believe in words. I no longer believe the excuses. I no longer believe in promises. I want to see the facts.

    @Farmer100 (INT1)
    You are so right Farmer100.
i have all my members asking explanations and some of them thinking to leave the game at all. lately nothing is working. events starting and crashing , rewards that are not credited....... GGS that asks for apologies and promissing to fix the bugs but nothing happenes.
we are all affraid to start an event because is not sure for what we are playing.
GGS if you are not able to fix all the bugs then shut down all the events for a while and leave us to farm in peace for a while, and try to hire some real programers to do the job, not childrens that just came out the kindergartens

If your team couldnt fix anything at the moment,
One thing you can do for us now is please take away ALL EVENTS during our holidays period
Let us stay in peace with our own farm on our own feet
I have been playing this game many years and my patience is running out
There are too many things that need to be fixed, once your team fixed, it was not probably ways
You guys always say time to improve, develop or whatever.. and look what happened.. is this the way?
We are here to play game for fun not to face such a serious concerned everytime we opening the farm
Please treat us better than this, we are not deserved to be treated this way

oktoberfest was meant to be a month of special activity - ie more events than usual/more coop activities than usual

it would seem we're still in it.... things havent slowed down since it started (in september iirc)

why do you think that is? it's definitely not for our enjoyment, as many have expressed the view that we have too many events going on at the same time, i dont recall hearing or reading once that players want even more piled on top. You all know the answer to that question anyway, gold.

    And it's the only answer.

    Consider:-

The team know their reputation is in tatters - i refer you to CM_Hunters first long apology that refers directly to that, with words about winning trust back etc, GGS themselves recognise they have lost players' trust and their reputation among their user base is at an all time low - a company doesn't post an apology like that for a mere 'wobble'. The situation deteriorated further with the sweeping bans due to a bug introduced by GGS (that for once benefited the player) and prompted another long apology by CM_Hunter who gave the official word that "The action taken [by GGS] was heavy-handed" - which translates in non-company speak as knee-jerk and unfair. GGS are equally aware of the constant and ongoing broken and buggy nature of all these events they keep running back to back or at the same time, with the second apology stating "It has been quite a year for all of us, players and Goodgame staff alike. The road has not been a smooth one and we are sorry for the issues you have faced". And yet they keep.. on... running... them. Nothing is changing. The grab for gold is real, transparent and frankly, pretty desperate. We have been assured more than once that the game is here to stay for the long term, even tho the way things have been run since the dockyard introduction suggests the opposite is true.

If you were part of the team behind BF would you be happy with the way it's gone since the dockyard? Of course not. And I'm sure the BF team are intelligent individuals and likewise are not happy at all themselves. They more than any know the answer isnt carrying on as it is and introducing yet more features/events - the community of players are screaming for a non buggy/broken experience - and must be aware that the answer is to stop all the broken events and fix the plethora of bugs in the game while running events the community have a measure of trust in and like, ie the weekly event, temp farm etc and cc (tho its run too frequently over these past months, with the community being vocal on that as well).

And yet considering all of that, they don't stop, haven't stopped, aren't going to - they havent even suggested a slow down in events amid all the words of two very long apologies (they've actually said the opposite). Which points to only one thing - the pressure for the gold grab comes from higher up - and there isn't a lot higher than exec producer. So I'm sure you can figure out where it's coming from.

So there's only one thing that will make a difference - the buying of gold. It's that simple. Using gold isnt the issue per se - they already have your money - only if you replace the gold you use, does it factor in (hence gold depleting events, esp those that are coop based [there's a good reason they turned the HWE into a CHWE] as the vast majority of gold spent will occur during coop events due to the massive amounts of gold used on boosters by coops - individual use wont come even close to those numbers).

Because most players and coops are clearly participating in these new/broken events in general despite complaining continuously about the bugs, frequency, reward losses, restarts etc, nothing will change. Why should it, altho the game isnt remotely running the way it should with a multitude of problems, the actual 'gold' model is working, gold sales will have leapt initially with the introduction of the CHWE (as one example) - it will have levelled out but the new 'level' of gold spent thru an iteration raises the general figure of gold spending thru a monthly cycle and so on. In short, amid the mountain of problems these gold grabs are bringing to the game, they are working for GGS in that gold spending overall will have gone up and now have a new threshold expected per cycle (however long a business cycle is to GGS). The actions of a number that leave the game or coops that dont take part, wont offset the increased gold sales overall up to this point im sure.

That obviously would change if coops and players en masse reached a breaking point and GGS saw the model as no longer working. And that's the tricky part for GGS - how far can we push them until it no longer nets us increased gold sales?

When/if the gold spending model no longer works, then and only then would GGS even bother to take note of player views.

Words are cheap (and yeah, there's a fair few in this post), only actions mean anything.

I have said repeatedly that there is no incentive for the game to change/improve as long as people throw gold at it.  And, no, I am not anti gold.  I would buy gold in a heartbeat if  .. well, you know.  But as long as people continue to throw gold at broken events, there is no incentive for the company to fix them or to change what is on offer.

When they introduced Cooptober, I said it was simply and excuse to run the CCs more often.  And sure enough they are STILL running the CCs too close together as well as these other events they have introduced .. the goldfish event and the CHWE.  They have been simply pushing to get their numbers up for the merger. It is all about money.  They have not shown in any way, shape, or form that they care about the players.  Nothing but bugs and an overload or broken events.

well there's the incentive of having a good product and a good reputation but these clearly play second fiddle to GGS (and i dont mean the development team in this regard - its coming from higher).

Smart companies know that eventually they live and die by reputation and in the long run short term gains mean very little overall when a shattered reputation comes home to roost. And it always does eventually - when no one will go near any of your products due to your poor reputation, it's game over. The only real winners in that scenario are shareholders (or owners) that reap the rewards when they're sailing high but get out before the 'crash'.

the goldfish rescue is interesting, it's already a dying event on only its second showing if the numbers on my server are anything to go by, the majority aren't playing it and those that are aren't playing it much in general - most seem to have done a bit of fishing to get it rolling for some hw rewards and left it at that and I suspect it will continue to dwindle with players ignoring gold aspects of it all together (im sure most have already)

the sad thing is, in gaming a development team can put in all the work and produce the best product they're capable of, but those that control the business can totally undermine their work - google star wars and micro transactions to see it at work, which is also a shot across the bows for any gaming company that thinks its too big (and there isn't any bigger than the company in that google hit) to care about what players think

I've been a gamer all my life and worked in the industry for a number of years and have seen companies come and go (including some major players at the time) and most of those it wasn't due to any development team, pretty much always came down to bad business decisions (not always towards the user base but often so, even extremely popular games that were the bees knees in online gaming have gone from 60 to 0 in the last year alone due to poorly chosen business models that exacerbated players so they left en masse)
