Wascilly, Cuddly, Hunter, any other mods I may have missed or don't know about,
this one is for you to please take to the team.
I suggest setting up ONE thread in the suggestions section here that only you mods can post into or edit.
This would be a simple, easy way for all of us to see what has or hasn't already been suggested,
AND a way to find out the status.
So... an example would be a list of suggestions made by number.
Just making some up for examples here.
1. Make more boats for the dock.
2. Suggestion for a new animal, a dragon.
3. Idea for a new flag theme.
Now... once you gather suggestions, you can opt to respond one of only three ways.
Sort suggestions already made into three groups.
A. NO we aren't going to consider that any time in the near future.
(possibly offer reasons, or not, No at least is an answer. We can just stop asking for it.)
B. That's a great idea, the team likes it, we don't know when it will happen but it's on the table for some future update, thank you.
C. Discuss.... YOU can then open a new thread and let everyone chime in pro or con, what everyone likes, hates, want's etc… Take the results to the team for a final yes, no, or possibly and come back with their reply.
My hope here is that this would eliminate repeated suggestions that may have already been decided, and would also prevent players who take the time to share their great ideas only to be ignored from feeling like no one cares. Some ideas lets face it, have been offered many times. They simply aren't going to happen for what ever reasons.

You may have noticed the new temporary sub-section under Technical help, there will be one appearing under Suggestions too before the weekend. Both sections are getting a tidy up, merging together all the threads for the same bugs/suggestions & giving them clearer titles (if needed) so that they are easier for you all to find. The bug section should only be about 3-5 pages long, "Suggestions" will be longer, because we don`t archive the old threads, instead we leave them there, either closed or still waiting to see if they appear in the game of not.
Aside from needing some tidying up, the suggestions section is not as chaotic as it may appear to be. What happens is that someone posts a suggestion, if it is clearly a brilliant idea, we throw it to the team right away & some get actioned very swiftly, especially if they are connected with a feature that is currently being optimized. The rest of the suggestions go on to our feedback forms & are passed on to the CMs in batches, for them to take to their feedback meetings with the rest of the team. While they are waiting to be submitted, we watch the discussions about them, so that we can include if the suggestion is popular or if other players really don`t like it. If it is one we have submitted before, but has a new angle, we will submit it again. There are occasionally ones that we all know are just not going to happen, for example suggesting that GGS just gives everyone a monthly allowance of gold, we would probably still pass that on, just to give the team a laugh hehe
Now, where the system fails, is the part where we get feedback back from the CMs, telling us the reaction of the team to the suggestions. We have been trying to get that for as long as I have been a mod. The CMs come & go & with each new one, we get to the point where they are going to arrange that & then they are gone & we get another new one to train lol - We now have @CM_Hunter who appears to be very organised, so we might have more luck with him, maybe he will post here to clarify the situation on that issue, but we will keep pestering them for a feedback-feedback system, until we get one.
Finally, "a list", we won't be doing that. - It would be great, both in suggestions & in bugs, but they are a full time job to maintain & we simply don`t have the time to keep them up-to-date and in my opinion, if the list if not up to date, it is worse than not having one. Hopefully once we are done with the cleanup, both sections will be much easier to navigate without one, but if you really want a list, there is nothing stopping you from creating & maintaining one, we would even make it a sticky, if you wanted us to.
Wabbit's post pretty much covers it! It's correct that maintaining such a list is a very time consuming job, and unfortunately it's just not practical for us to maintain something like that. We try our best to get feedback to the moderators and you guys about your suggestions and comments. The recent live stream we broadcast is an example of the improvements we are trying to make in that area, giving you guys the opportunity to hear from us in the team directly.
We also have some ideas in the works about how to make the process better and get you guys some more feedback on things you suggest. It can take some time to get these things together and make sure that there is a consistent workflow available, but it's something I feel - and I think you do too - would be very helpful for players and forum users. For now you can rest assured that the mods are passing your feedback on to us, we have a well defined workflow for that where we regularly collect suggestions in a formalised manner and present them to the team for their consideration.
We're utilising polls and other methods within the forums more often lately as it's quite an effective way to get your feedback on smaller questions about the game, but there is always room to improve and we're working closely with the moderators, not only to gather your feedback about the game but also about the forums and topics like the one you have raised.
I hope we can keep working together and continue improving, and we are always happy to receive a suggestion from you guys! Keep it up and thank you!
I do hope all video things make it to youtube. I can't get anything on TV anymore. Got rid of it.
I did watch the one just posted. Awesome. Shared. Very nice.
