Update Sept 19th - Oktoberfest! - "NEW INFO ADDED"

It’s that time again and we are excited to let you know what we have in store for this update! The update is scheduled for the the 15th of September,  so let’s jump on in and see what’s coming:

Oktoberfest

This year we have created an all new event to celebrate that wonderful time of year in every German’s calendar. That’s right, this year we are celebrating Oktoberfest in true German style so dust off your lederhosen and prepare your stomachs for the finest German pretzels and fair rides!

But not so fast, because Oktoberfest is coming to your co-operative village and this year it is your jobs to make sure thirsty and hungry attendees enjoy the festivities too.

• A festival hall will be setup in your co-op village where customers can come and order their drinks and food

• Some smaller tents will also appear around the festival hall, each specialising in different foods and drinks

• You are tasked with producing various recipes in the smaller tents using your farm products. The newly produced items (such as pretzels, gingerbread and fish stew) can then be used in the main tent to fill contracts and serve customers in exchange for points in the event (Lester’s stash cannot be used to fill these contracts)

• Contracts will feature a time limit - unlike other markets the time will begin to count down as soon as the contract appears and not when items are added to them

• The more visitors you have to your village festival hall, the more points you will be able to gain per contract! The number of visitors will increase with each completed contract but reduce when a contract is not completed

• You will collect both individual points for personal rewards and co-op points that benefit the entire co-op

• Everyone is in the festival spirit, but it’s hard work making all that food. Occasionally your chefs may fall asleep on the job! But don’t worry, you can wake them up with a little poke and get them moving again

• When you wake a sleeping worker, Tessa will give you the choice of three barrels, each containing a different reward, so keep those chefs motivated

Rewards

The event will feature a list of activity rewards which will unlock as you gain points. There will also be rewards for individual ranks in addition to rewards for co-operative ranking.

• The top 10 players on each server will receive an all new animated Tea Cup Ride decoration, with happiness points dependent on rank and the highest happiness going to the player in the top position

• There are also 2 exclusive Oktoberfest flags to get your hands on, with at least one appearing as a reward for the top 500 players and both included for higher ranked players

• A Pretzel Cart decoration is also available with 5 different looks depending on your level range in the event

The Oktoberfest event will begin on September 16th at 14:00 CEST and run until October 3rd at 13:59 CEST.

Hey Everyone,

We know that it is late & you are probably all wondering where the update is

• We did one final internal team test today and decided the event gameplay wasn't as fun as we wanted
• We decided to add a couple of additional working days to optimise it
• The Test server will soon be updated & will have the Oktoberfest event on it 
• The Update & Event will come to the live servers next week (Tuesday or Wednesday)
• You will have until Monday to try out the Oktoberfest & give feedback ON THE TEST SERVER FORUM,  if you want to.

Hi Everyone,

The update will start shortly - The Oktoberfest event will begin as soon as the update is done & will end at the same time as the Candy Farm.

Sorry about the delay folks! We collected your feedback and have put some changes in place to the event. While there was not enough time to implement all of your suggestions and feedback we would like to present the improvements to this event:

• It is now easier to see production times on all the Oktoberfest stalls! Placing your mouse over the main Oktoberfest building will show the remaining production time on all your stands

• The help text was altered to more accurately reflect the event and clear up some confusion in terms

• The ‘Original gingerbread hearts’ item, exclusive to Oktoberfest and different to candy farm gingerbread, was altered to make it more visually different and unique for this event

• Oktoberfest contracts were re-balanced to provide better rewards and require less products

• Activity rewards were also reworked a little

• The Sleeping Worker will still appear on any of your three main farms but now Tessa will lead you directly to the farm they are on, meaning you only have to search one of the three when you have a sleeping worker

• A booster will be provided to all players for the duration of Oktoberfest which will give a production output boost to elderberries, figs, passion fruit, and apricots from the greenhouse to give your Candy Farm fruit production a boost during the event (an idea to implement a ‘Candy Farm item store’ was unfortunately not possible as Candy Farm items can only be stored by players who have opened the farm and there was sadly not enough time to rebalance or remove these products from the event)

• Keep an eye out for Best Seller offers we have added, providing you with the fish you need for Oktoberfest products if you do not wish to catch the fish

In this update we have also included new building stages for:

• Main Farm Windmill

• Main Farm Silo

• Main Farm Composter

• The main house on each farm (e.g. the Farmhouse on your main farm)

• Simple house and themed variants

It was not possible to implement all changes suggested but thank you for your feedback and best of luck in the event!
