    So the moral of the story, @stef7 (US1), check the credentials of the company like investors do, and then invest based on their reputation. Low rep, no investment, good rep, good investment.  :)

    But still, if they are after quick buck, why do they talk about long term balance? :):):)

    Anyway, thanks for your summary. It's actualy liberating. Or could be for some players. I've learned the lesson long ago, and I'm happily gaming. Or can I still call my nowadays sporadic involvement gaming? :):):) Today I spent more time on forums then in-game ............. lol :)

    Ok look at it this way.

    Lets say GGS thinks they have an other 4 years before big farm is shut down. If they make it so it takes you either 3 months to save farm cash to do an upgrade or you can not wait and buy gold to get the upgrade now. So you just gave them 10.00 dollars for the gold. 

    Now if the fish could still be sold you would not have to wait to save but you would also not need to give them 10.00 for gold.

    Fast dollar not long term.

    Your wrong there steff I cant use money to skip build times, harvest times, upgrade fancy blue anything, that is where  spend my gold so they only thing the money did was make it easier for persons to buy the land and they went to this extreme to stop that  HMMMMMMMMMM what does that tell you.

    PS all my expansions are done have been done long before the DSF

    I think everything that needs to be said has been said. We are all beginning to look like a bunch of little kids threatening to hold our breath if we don't get our own way. I don't think that will work. Perhaps we should wait to see what comes of the mods submitting our problems to the devs on Monday and cool off a little. This has been the most negative thing I have ever seen in my life, going steady since Tuesday. It isn't doing anyone any good, and it isn't helping the situation either. Hold tight guys, they can't do anything over the weekend.

    My explanation was meant as a parable of how the quick buck is made and why the high amount of farm cash was not good for making it.

    The problem is money from the virtual space are the same with the money gained by real/physical work. Virtual space makes lots of money giving nothing real, and real work gives less money for too much work.
    Buying virtual things is like throwing your money to the trash bin, because you will never have them. Owners gets it all... and workers are just useful.

    In virtual games you have 2 choices: 1. spend your life here working hard and go slow or 2. a whole year of playing can be done in just few hours if you buy it. People who wants to play choose 2, people who wants to waste time are choosing 1. 

    That was the "balance" thing in the long announcement. It means "if you want fun you have to buy it" . The only happiness that matters is their happiness, if they are not happy, they will shut down your game and all done. (it seems like some people are already talking about that, sorry too much to read it all)

    Me thinks GGS values their fluff way, way too highly (these are fish market values not necessarily what the item is "valued" at or costs elsewhere in the game)

    It seems like the tools, intro of the edge crops, DSF, Yarnuckle’s prizes and other things  - GGS idea is to get us accustomed to EXPECTING.

    BIGFARM PLAYER: I lost my temper when I got logged on to get my "bonus" by send out my massive fleet, sell my fish for lots of farm $$ so I could upgrade and play the game better and found out all that was nerfed without notice and I guess I said a few thing I shouldn't have.

    GGS: Bonus? How did you get a bonus? I cut out bonuses this last week.

    BIGFARM PLAYER: Yeah. Thanks for telling us. I was expecting a some $$ and some fun. Instead I got enrolled in a DSFish Market. [Insert #] years with the company/game and lots of gold purchases and time spent. I've gotten a bonus every every day for a month but this one. You don't want to give bonuses, fine. But when people count on them as their game play because YOU GAVE IT TO US TO DO SO, well what you did just plain...

    OTHER BFPLAYERS: Sucks.

    BIGFARM PLAYER: Thank you, OTHER BFPLAYERS.  My co-op members and other gamers, whose heart  and obviously wallet have been bigger than they should have been...

    GGS: Remember how I was toying with the idea of suspending the DSF profits and providing all kinds of fish?

    I have not been able to catch ONE swordfish or ONE salmon. How can we fulfil the tasks? Let alone have something to sell on the market. Somebody has a weird view of "balance". 

    Oh and by the way, you can't sell any of them, except at the market.

    I find this comment more intriguing than any that I have seen in a while.
    If this is true, then why are there so many players who are running multiple farms?
    Who cares how many farms a person has? Really, if the game doesn't allow you to sell the harvested items to buy the things you need to upgrade then why would anyone even want more than one? This "update" to game is the worst case of "rebalancing' I've ever seen. I sold fish to buy boats to get more fish to upgrade. Selling harvests is the only way to make dollars to do the things you need to do in the game. Markets don't pay enough to upgrade and move along in the game. All this does is make me want to spend less and play less.

    I am STILL very angry.

    I STILL want my money for my fish stuck in inventory.

    No notice to take away sell buttons,  I am so very unhappy.

    After being stuck in a hospital bed for a few days, I thought it would be so nice to sit and relax and play on my farm and to my big surprise the entire game was knocked soooooooooooo far out of "balance", my sell button was missing and all my fish stuck in inventory.  I would rather get stuck by a bunch more needles than deal with this complete mess.

    @Pichu you NEED to fix this mess.

    I can't even look at my dockyard area without immense anger.  I spent TOO much time and farm cash trying to make something nice and BAM! in a blink of an eye ... ALL GONE!

    I absolutely loved the new Dockyard and now I have not even sent out one boat or made any chum.  What a complete waste of my time.

    AMEN to that. I've lost too much gold with their pop-ups out of nowhere and snatching it for something I didn't choose to buy. There needs to be a button to confirm a purchase before they take your REAL money away from you. It leaves a sour taste and a desire to never spend with them again. Other games do it, so it's not an impossible thing to do!

    I think their thinking is that they make money from these accidents, and they do.  But they'd make even more if people had some assurances that any gold they buy would stay put until it was needed.

    It was yust a mater of time , how quickly it Will be changed (earning from seling fish). he he .

    I dont like something else. Why play horse turnament if is not posible to gain platinum reward with horse of 62 "points". I wish to have a hous and I trie hard, but in vain.

    The same with warld championship and whell of fortune.

    here is my Day 3 update:-

    still did not log on to the game for the 3rd day in a row

    - next September will be 3rd year daily player , never missed a day without playing b4 update -

    begging to think that even if you GGS returned the things to the way they were b4. even with this I will still not going to enjoy it again , feels like something broke between us, trust maybe ? 

    sorry to sound like a husband discovers his wife cheated on him, but this is how I feel   :D

    I am on level 106 and finally got to upgrade some much needed buildings...   I have noticed that reaching a higher level the price's go up way up..   I could not afford to upgrade them when I was on a lower level.  Now that you have taken the selling of fish away means that I won't be able to upgrade anymore. I enjoyed this game and I loved this game..  Now I do not enjoy this game nor do I love it.  I do not sell to the organic market prices are cheap!  I sell to make money for  to harvest my fields ect..   What is the strategy?  Simple it is not for the poor!!
    Horse racing;  is a major major not fair..  Why race when you loose every dang time!  
    Adventure mission's;  why why can't I finish them!   I have wrote down when I started and when you clock ends the mission..  News flash it is not the same we or should I say I get ripped off every damn time!
    Fishing deep sea!  Was nice to do but dang it cost money to keep those boats going.  Yet again what a huge disappointment when you took the selling away...  

    I have gone from loving this game to honestly just hating it with a passion!  I've worked hard to do what have done this far..  Now I am back to square one robbing peter to pay paul and never getting a head..  Go ahead and laugh for I know that is what you are doing!
    Why should I invite my friends to play this game..  That get's started and when you start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel it is stripped away from..  Why should I tell my friends about this??

    I do not bother with filling out those dang surveys...   You are going to do what YOU want to do GGS!
    Horse racing;  a huge rip off!  You loose every time!  No matter how much you train your dang horse you're still gonna loose!
    Organic Market;  what a huge RIP off!  Price's are way to low.  
    Fair days; not even worth selling for you get cheap cheap price's! Why bother!
    These North Pole farm's  what a rip off!
    Deep Sea Fishing;  was fun the strategy was keeping all the fish alive..  Selling them to keep  your boats stocked from bait to captains workers ect...   Those things cost money!

    GGS;  this game is so NOT worth the heartaches, disappointments, 

    GGS;  let's see if you are listening to this!  For those who have successfully should be in a group that are successful. 
         For those who have struggled should be in a group who also struggles...   Instead of all being in one large group.  So not fair they will win every time..  Where is the fairness?
     This should apply on all of the farms as well as deep sea fishing..  
    You enjoy ripping us off!

    I would like to suggest better you just delete the 'deep sea' on the map. Curious what's the thing that has many smoke at the top right in maps? Build a volcano?
    I cannot complete the daily tasks (get 50 swordfish and salmon and herring).
    Maybe I'll skip the fish hard worker event, only fill when it's the lobster, shrimp, oyster.... The George will sad.
    Maybe George will happy when people start spend gold on it, but sad when see the deep sea... The money is sink in that 'SEA HOLY LAND'.

    Yesterday instead of playing missions for the CC I went on a lovely bus ride to the nearest big city with my daughter (a gold buyer like myself) and her boyfriend and we used the money we WOULD have spent this month buying gold to have a lovely lunch before hitting the shops. We returned home very tired in the evening but it did us a world of good to be away from the game.

    (It might have been cheaper if we had bought gold, as we also hit the shops BIG TIME lol).

    Our philosophy was that GGS took fun out of the game so we made our own fun.

    This is my view of this "update" or "re-balance" or ... something.

    We all think that this is not deliberate.

    I think this is all planned.

    I have 2 reasons for this.

    One.
    The gap between gold buying players and the ones that do not buy gold must be very visible.
    Deep sea fishing makes this gap less visible, therefore change or destroy deep sea fishing.

    Two.
    In my opinion, Big Farm is not profitable or is not profitable enough.
    And for more then 6 months, probably a year.
    So, make the game profitable or "kill" the game.

    I think GGS selected "kill" option.
    I think they want to have minimal number of players possible when they "kill" the game.
