  • I also was very upset with the changes to the deep sea fishing and the new fish market and agree with many of the comments.  I even thought briefly about abandoning my farm.  I sent GGS some not very kind 'tell us what you think' messages.

But then I decided to think of it as an 'event' instead of a new game feature. I had a lot of fun building up the fleet, learning how to fish, and earning millions of farm dollars every day selling fish.  I did use a little gold to speed things along, but not very much.  With the generous fishing prices I was able to purchase the rest of the plots of land on my farms and some upgrades that I wouldn't normally have been able to do for a long time. I knew the great prices couldn't last and only kept 1000 of each fish in inventory.  (I should have made that 10!)

And now that the 'adjustments' have made deep sea fishing boring and unprofitable, I just pretend the 'event' is over and let the fleet sit and rust at the dock.  I had a great time, I have some wonderful new land, I have more farm dollars in the bank than I ever have before, and no one is forcing me to ever deep sea fish again or visit the fish market.  It was a great 'event' while it lasted; now it's over.

The real challenge of this game is not managing the farm, it's avoiding anger at GGS manipulations and lies, and continuing to enjoy my farm in spite of them.

  • Man, today's my birthday.  Imagine my surprise when I log in to my account and find that 90% of my profit and available earnings are now null and void.

    . . . Happy Birthday to me ? ? ?

No, no, you have to fill the first two and then get another two, fill them and get another two, fill them...do this at least 6 times before you get a set of four to fill....fill those four, get another four, fill them and so on at least 6 times maybe 8 times before we start getting 6 orders....and then we fill 6 orders about 12 times maybe more before we begin to see the value of each order go up to 99.  So it will be a long profitless process.  At the rate the trawlers go in and out of the pool with fish, this process should take us up to a year, perhaps 2 yrs, before we see contracts that have gold attached to them.
Exactly FarmerCli.......another two years of our lives invested in order to work something up to the point of something that still might takes days or weeks to fill and finally reap any kind of reward for it!  As everyone knows, the market contracts now call for ridiculous amounts of milk, apples, pigs and suchlike, and unless you forsake everything else to produce such quantities, it can take a very long time to fill a profitable contract..so yeah, let's invest another 2 years of our lives into a fish market, with little if any profit involved for contracts that will take weeks or months to fill, especially since we won't be getting the fishing spots we need in order to fill the contracts to start with...........I am so disgusted, I can't even think straight...... :(
    and oh yeah.......Elvis said DITTO

Well said !!! and exactly what I am doing re deep sea fishing ... was a one off never to happen again

  • This is horrible. As a lower level player I was finally making enough money to upgrade buildings and expand farm, and play temp farm at a decent pace and now the income is gone and I can't afford to do anything because everything is crazy expensive now and there is no decent income coming from anywhere. the ships are deadly expensive to stock up and the contract rewards are peanuts...the profit margin is a negative!!! Money wasted on buying the ships that are sitting stagnant at the dock and I missed the chance to sell my fish and chum so another waste their...the horse meadow is so complicated and their is no decent tutorial to explain how it works..you guys are really ruining this game >:-(

HarvestMoooon, are you interested in buying in a few things I have for sale? I can let you have the statue of liberty for a great price !!! maybe I can interest you in purchasing the White house? oh don't be alarmed if after i cash your check the title to your purchase bounces like a rubber ball, just "pretend" it didn't happen !!!!!
  • Wow, I can't believe I wasted soooo much of my money and time on the deep sea fishing. Horrible thing to do Big Farm. I'm not wasting any more money on it. It cost a fortune to load the boats and send them out and for what??? No profit now. A lot of us could care less about the coins and other prizes Big Farm thinks are so great. I'm actually just about done with this game, period.

  • What I really wish is that GGS would've just said that the Deep sea fishing thing WASN'T permanent and was still in the "working process."  Then when it changed it might not have angered all the gamers so much.
  • Keep your fish safe until they are fixing the prices

I am afraid to say anything positive about this game because Owners/managers/whoever might take that away from me as well
  • I'm a level 85 solo player. This game was slow enough simply with the time it took to build (one at a time) or farm items now with limited income it's out of control.

Send out and Email when you return the original fishing and I might start playing again!

  • Read the update poor Cuddly. Hard time to be a moderator. It would not so be so bad if the things that you were getting from the fish market were comparable and really useful.  Giving me water drops and rose seeds are not useful. I have over 1000 of those. small gold in the picture is a start. How about some gold flowers
  • we have players going on 2 years including my self who are up set with the new deep sea fishing. changes were made knowing people were going upset. you are making it harder for new players and old. how are you going to keep them interested enough to keep playing. some of the older players are talking about quitting and the new are not lasting a week. this is suppose to be a game for fun. why are people insisting on making it frustrating and no longer fun. is it just to be on top?
  • Hey everyone!

I don't understand, how nobody understands. I'm confused...b/c if GGS had left it the way it was, the game would be more or less be over..? What happens when you get to the top and there is no where to go..then what?
and then everyone else gets to the top, and we're all even...then what?
    Am I missing something?

    -------------------------------

What do you mean what happens when you get to the top?

what top? The game keeps going and going there is no top level you could be level 500 and still you will continue to level up.

When GGS brought into play the fishing region I was ecstatic. Wow something different. From the time the fishing started to now I have not leveled up significantly at all. My lab has only leveled up once and Lester's stash twice. Do you think that in that time frame that is too fast??? It isn't about going to fast. It is because you have enough game dollars so that you don't need to purchase them anymore. You use gold to buy those game dollars GGS fills the coffers. You don't buy game dollars GGS coffers run dry. It is laughable when GGS says we are progressing too fast. My fleets were out fishing all the time never in dock except to delivery and right back out again. All these great expansions GGS says we are doing because of an imbalance is ludicrous. Fight back. If they want our money we want our fish sales to be able to continue as was before. Don't buy gold, Don't buy game dollars, Don't participate in the coopcha challenge either. This challenge had gone from once a month to twice. Why? because it is a giant money maker. Don't get tempted. Stay the course and GGS will HAVE to listen to us.

  • It's good to see that the developers of the game , did have a look at our comments and complains and even trying to show us, how nice the contracts will be when we get them to higher level :)  something positive to look forward too, but first we have to get there ....in the Organic market it took few months to get it to decent level to see nice payouts
I know changes which were made to fish market - will not be reverted to what we had due to making to much profit of the fishing region -  Fine (sadly, with not happy look on my face).

Can we make peace and meet each other in middle ?

We need some examples of loading up the boat with fridges & crew and posting, how much that costs & how many fish it brings (realistically)  and calculate and re-balance from there.
So far - what the contracts pay, doesn't even cover the outfit of the boat to go and get the requested amount of fish.   There is no balance & it's uneconomical  to send out the boat with crew, freezers & danger protection AND CATCH  fish, which is worth less than the equipment/ crew  getting it !!
This is simple math - isn't it?

If it cost me more to grow the apples , than to sell them - sorry to say, but all my apple orchards will be deleted !!!

I sincerely think before getting lost in conversations, how lucrative the fish market will be in six months with 99lvl orders, could we look at reality of EQUIPMENT / CREW prices - so we could still use fishing region without $$ loss ?

So far my SHARKS are having a party, as my boats swim out without crew & equipment to catch min fish per boat level, basic storage :(

Harvest Moooon is not trying to pretend that GGS didn't screw things up or that she won't miss the fun and extra income from the Dockyard.  She is simply trying to over-come this fiasco with a higher train of thought.  And she has every right to the way she chooses to react to this horrible situation.  But to call her out and poke at her is also not a solution here.  I admire her thoughts on the situation.  Some here are going to be a LOT angrier than others depending on what they invested into the dockyard, whether it be just farm dollars and time or gold and time, it will also depend on their losses, how high they built up their fleet, and whether or not they had a chance to sell off their inventory.  Please don't poke at her for sharing her thoughts on the subject.

So... just how hard would it have been to announce, "We're making changes to the Deep Sea Fishing aspect of the game. If you have been saving up your fish for a special purchase, now might be the time to sell."?

That one 'heads up' would have greatly reduced the unhappiness and frustration your 'balancing act' has caused.

You're ignorant, arrogant, and naive if you think this brouhaha is going to die down anytime soon, if ever.

Perhaps to better help the devs understand what I went though as a player to incorporate the newly added dockyard into my gameplay I should share my story. I am only level 129,  I was only level 121 when the Dockyard started, I worked my butt off to level up to upgrade my Trawlers to level 2 after reaching level 125 and then worked my butt off again trying to get to level 130 to upgrade to level 3.  I also want to mention that I sold off ALL my honey cream, soap, fruitcakes with cream and apple tarts just to pull together enough cash to upgrade my dockyard.  All the while sending out boats constantly to earn more cash to keep reinvesting.  I neglected my necessary farm upgrades and even let Steve pass on by.  I put a LOT of work and time into the dockyard.  For GGS to "suddenly" decide the game is not "balanced" is complete madness.  GGS how do you think players like myself were going to feel about this new market  that seems to cause a loss or offer very minimal profit after trying to equip boats after spending so much time and so much investment in the dockyard area?  I am STILL making honey cream and apple turnovers to restock my inventory!  Then come like a thief in the night and STEAL my sell button, leaving me with all the profits and everything I invested from my inventory held captive.

I can't even go to the fishing region feeling so betrayed can barely do the farms if I wasnt leader right now would take a vaca from the game altogether for a while really I think that is what most of us are feeling BETRAYED, and taken advantage of. Shame on you GGS,

Same thing for me....I am only getting Oyster/Shrimp/Clam pools and Lobster pools and sometimes Tuna/Herring Pools....No Cod/Salmon/Swordfish pool till now  :/

But My two contracts will require Swordfishes....
  • I don't normally complain...........not much anyway, but this update has put the screws to my co-op. No one is on anymore to share info with, chat with. No matter what time of day I logged on, there were 10-12 others on also. Now, maybe 1 or 2 others will be on. Some of them took a bigger hit on the DSF, as they had the trawlers, I did not. Fished with my Wheeries and Skipjacks, made maybe $4-5 million every other day. It was enough to help me buy more land, add some stables, pigs, and duck coops, upgrade a few things, I was in 7th heaven. I even took on the Viking temp farm. Now I am stuck again. This fiasco has ended any gold buying by me.

I was discussing about this with the leaders of all the top co-operatives of the indian server, i'd like to let GGS know that the leaders has told me that they and their members are not going to play any CC or buy gold until this is reverted back  :# I think GGS should revert it back, or maybe atleast make a major change as you are even bringing in the 4th farm, so that does not really make it unbalanced.

Hope GCS know how bad their updates about fish market. There are about 35 pages of complaint, but nothing change.... Just want to use the 'rake' in contract rewards to hid their stupid team members :s

Good points, but the message should be addressed to the CEO and management.  They are the ones who make the decisions.

I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to post their very well thought out comments. I am very, very, very sad to see players leave, or thinking of leaving the game. I've loved playing this game for over 4 years. I saw a comment about the relatively few # of players that are posting here - a lot of players can't get into the forum to post. Personally, I don't k now how many tickets I had to file about this issue - and sometimes I can and sometimes I can"t
    That's my rant

I understand Deep Sea Fishing needed to be rebalanced, although I don’t understand how it made it to the live servers without someone “doing the math” first.  It wasn’t long before people were posting on the forum about the exorbitant amount of dollars they were making.  At this point, you know you have a problem and the community should have been made aware.  We should have been told there was a problem with Deep Sea generating too much income and you were working on a fix.  Spend dollars and gold for upgrading at our own risk and enjoy it while it lasts.  Or, if “Since the conception of this feature the intention was to include a market” is true, why not tell us from the start?  The short notice on the “adjustments” was unfair and the contracts so far have been disappointing.  Having more available would be nice. Some with higher profits, even an occasional great contract- fishing xp, decos, gold, rps, xp, skins-Something to covet.  Give us a reason to fish! !!

And an apology for handling this so poorly.
