i look forward to this update with a little excitement but also a feeling of dred as we all know sometimes^^ GGS can really make a mess when they change things for the "better", i also think the village should be burnt to the ground and reworked,

lets hope GGS think about the players instead of the gold they can make when the fishing is changed :))
    sometimes?

No. It doesn't. One poor rafter needing constant repairs due to his lack of navigation skills is enough. No need for 14 more loosers like him. :)

    not remotely

dockyard is good as it is

just cos GGS want to nerf it, cos they thrive on making choke points, doesn't make poor suggestions any more valid

I'm just curious what they decided to come up with. Farming economy is gone forever so they can't fix it any more. But they might make it a bit more interesting and balanced again. From that point of view no need to rake in anything. Just shame that @Pichu doesn't want to share any pre-release secrets with us. :):):) Probably too bussy rebuilding office fortification before upcomming war. :)
    Hey there,

I cant share any information beforehand! I am sorry :/

    Cheers

Can you at least confirm whether some of the money we are currently making from DSF will be curtailed or if we will simply be given more options besides farm cash?
  • Corvid (GB1)Corvid (GB1) GB1 Posts: 625
rusty, they're definitely gonna nerf it, its the whole point of the new market - and no mod is gonna be in a position (whether he knows or not) where he can tell us

its an artifice presented as a reason for slashing fish money - 'dress it up in a market, cant just slash fish prices tho it's too obvious (as if we dont know anyway), so lets do an exchange thing'

bottom line, they dont like that money is no longer a choke point for players because of the dockyard, cos choke points are game mechanics that require gold to be spent to overcome

i think they're very short sighted on this, as i think nerfing the dockyard is gonna cost them big time in the whole scheme of things, but they want their bucks now, so bye bye sweet lil fish moneymakers

You may all be jumping the gun here and causing yourselves unwarranted stress and frustration.

If you take a good look at the news page you'll see it reads "We will have to do some adjustments to the Deepsea fishing area"  Area being the key word.

It looks to me like they are saying they are going to move things around to make room for the new fish market.

    @CrazyBigfarm55 (US1)

No, it doesn't look like that at all to me, not even close !!!

It looks like we are going to be "Spending farm cash and gold" to build a fleet that goes at sea, and brings back fish

Then we go to the special  "New Casino Market" where in change for the fish we will receive  "Tokens",  " Fuku coins",  "Lucky coins" and any other future addition that can be used by players to spin the never ending Wheels and simile-gambling games

hmmm i wouldnt mind being able to change things for wheel of fortune tokens as long as we still have the option to sell fish as we do now, the fuku tokens dont interest me at all nor do the coins so there a no  for me, if we loose the right to sell fish for dollars then the deep sea fishing will go the same way as the village

We are already exchanging goods, things in your own words, for WoF tokens, you haven't been paying enough attention to the village I am afraid  :)

Your comment is really beside the point, the point being that the farming environment is no longer Central to the game, quite the contrary, it's disappearing from it, the game is evolving into a gambling game, it does have some features of it already and the resemblance is becoming stronger at every update

Oh yes I know, they still call us Farmers, and have these characters and silly story on how they met and all, but it does no longer matter does it

if im wrong, i will find a hat and eat it

the wording tho makes me suspect that the current selling windows in farm management for dockyard fish will be removed and the market is the only place you'll sell your fish - what's the point of two 'dollar' based exchange menus - and the market prices wont come even close to the current ones we're used to

LOL, people it is a game.... and all speculating the worst... let's wait and see then either praise or scream...

@Corvid (GB1)  there are other things that can be sold in different places... you can sell apples out right or you can use them in the bakery and sell the product for example for better profit... so I am hopeful that we can sell fish outright or make a better profit from something in the fish market...  ;)  IMHO

    Happy Farming!

the only adjustment that can make me happy maybe is if we be "given a choice" to sell(for same price as now) or exchange fishes for Championship coins or exchange them for some kind of hiring time system for steve or for build time 50% time decrease booster.

tokens and lucky coins? nah ggs you can keep them :(

P.S. this nerf was something that we did expect though so i'm just glad i made billions before it actually happens.
P.S.2: I agree with Corvid, the word "exchange.... as well as dollars" in the description of the update news, pretty much is a 99% promising explanation of "direct selling removal" or "price nerf". Chances are though, that we can make more profit from "normal fishes caught from river/oleg" in the new system, but the dockyard fish prices will 99% sure nerf majorly, even if they allow us to sell them directly too, or sell them via the new market system (same as normal market for main farms) still the price of dockyard fishes will majorly drop, if you get what i mean, then expect 4000 dollars per swordfish but also 500 dollars per Sturgeon too maybe. no more 100 dollar sturgeon and 47000 dollar swordfish probably though.
Simpler said, if you could make 30mil-200mil from dockyard fishes and 2mil-5mil dollars from oleg/river fishing + mermaid bay per day. then after the update you can probably make 3mil-20mil dollar from dockyard, and 4mil-10mil dollar from oleg/river fishing. and with the market you can probably make 25% more dollars max same as normal market for main farms probably and occasionally win few tokens/lucky coin too for fulfilling market demands (tokens instead and ~same quantity as karma points, and lucky coins instead and ~same quantity as decoration upgrade parts, etc that you can get from normal market).
Expect This ^^^^^^^ and plan wisely imo. :)

So in total we can probably make ~max 25mil or so from deep sea fishing, but also 5-10mil more from normal river/oleg fishing + mermaid bay dishes. After the update. a Big nerf from current dollar making in total though.

P.S.3: either way i ain't payin' 100,000  gold for only one stupid village library book though, fire your marketing team now GGS(specially the "pricing" section of it, not only they messed up in pricing these fishes from the beginning anyway, but also they messed up majorly and bigtime in village book pricing too)!  :p:D

There are other ways of adjusting, of course. Like limiting the number of swordfish or lobsters in the water, which is what they seem to be doing now. :(

And tweaking the boats; maybe some boats will specialize in something and so we can't just rely on trawlers anymore.

The only adjustment i'd like to see is the removal of the village.....boot that garbage once and for all. Apart from yarnacle (level 1) its a complete waste of time. Upgrades do nothing but decrease village happiness which leads to more time wasted producing goods for......more upgrades and more village happiness loss? Instead of trading fish for tokens, how about we trade nails instead? :p

Raking in as much profit as I can in deep sea before this dreaded update arrives, hoping its at least a month or two away.

if they do that then people are gonna be sat around with very expensive lumps of lead in the water, that took a lot of time and dollars (tho not an issue once you were up and running) to set up

i would be surprised if the adjustment was of this ilk, would probably cause more consternation than nerfed prices

No doubt the adjustment to the deep sea fishing area is to make the space to accommodate  ............................. the Fishing Wheel . Save time crewing those boats , just spin for your catch :D:D:D

No I never expect the developers to make the game worse, or take away something that has been established, some people never learn and post to much info here as in the debacle of the toolboxes if not for certain players we would still have the original drop rate.  So yes it was a horrible shock to find the whole coop village a big fart in the wind, no real noticeably change in horse farm so everyone ignores it, no one using it developers,  the jetty does give but is a whole lot of work.  They really messed the game up. They continue to piss people off with the buying of championships  this game may not be here two years from now.

Maybe they'll make a boat that can bring back tons of cheap nails made in sweat shops at the Volcanic Island and we won't have to keep pounding away at the Minerals Factory any more.

    Exactly !

In the UK-1 server the number of weekly active players has dropped to less than half of what it was a little more than 1 year ago

People who see this title and start playing this game had been in search for a farming game, not a Casino game.

The fact that some of the players, or even a majority of players who love to build their farms also click generously on those wheels is purely incidental. These people are not going to stay only based on wheels, they wanted / thought they were playing a farming game.

The developers are abandoning efforts to bring novelty to the farming game, desperate to find new tricks that at a first superficial look seem a nice event, but in the end are yet another flurry of advertising and offers for gold plus stuff

Get real GGS, stop cheating on your customers, show some respect

to be honest even though i make around 50 million dollars a day from the boats and now have all the plots on 2 of my farms this part of the game has more or less killed off the flower farm for me as i only used that farm to make dollars now its redundant, and just sending boats out to basically catch dollars has started to bore me a bit, the fishing equipment is wasted as i never use any as its a waste of a slot, i make 192k fishing xp  every day making lobster chum which makes leveling up really easy, there is  zero skill  involved in the deep sea fishing and does seem to be a total waste of a part of the game that could and should be more challenging, ok i would miss the huge amount of dollars i now make but at the same time i would like it to be more interesting so im happy to take a hit on the dollars if they do it right and make it more interesting to play, new market sounds good and doing  stuff with products we make, i like the fact i can play this part of the game using  zero gold and i hope GGS dont decide to abuse this part of the game like they do the CC with gold use, i look forward to this update with a little excitement but also a feeling of dred as we all know sometimes^^ GGS can really make a mess when they change things for the "better", i also think the village should be burnt to the ground and reworked,

lets hope GGS think about the players instead of the gold they can make when the fishing is changed :))
A very well thought out and balanced view. For once think of us the players, here is something we love and enjoy, don't take it away or turn it into sh**t

And let's have that in bold,

"hope GGS think about the players instead of the gold they can make when the fishing is changed".

Thilly me, I have only just noticed. They have already made some adjustments.  In the last 24 hours or so it has been taking more than twice as long for the boats to come in with their precious cargo. You can hurry it up, of course .... oh ... did they put up the gold price for that as well?   :(
Oops, and the lobsters have all gone away too!
What the hell is going on?
