NO MORE, WAY TO MUCH COMPETITIONS

stef7 (US1)stef7 (US1) US1 Posts: 460

This game over the almost 5 year I have been playing has gone from a nice easy, go at your own pace and build a nice farm and have some nice chat to nothing but compete in everything with no way to be in a coop and not participate.

I liked the game with only missions and a 4 times a year coop challenge much better than now.  Some coops went for rank other did not.

Now it is compete in missions, horse racing, Rank for almost everything (hard work events, wheel of fortune, Orphanage Charity Drive, Coop challenge that is almost weekly now, Village challenge, and now world wide challenge.

Worst of it you can not opt out of most stuff now such as the village challenge. You can not decline a challenge you are forced to play it. Just like you are forced to play the Christmas event. You can not play the game even log in if you do not want to play the event or your whole coop will loose out. Not fair you have to choose between hurting a coop member or logging in to your game.

PLEASE, PLEASE do not add any more competitions you have gone over board with them.

Make the stuff we have work without bugs. Listen to the players add a gold lock, make a way to decline challenges, a way to opt out of events and competitions. Make the temp island longer again and only bring the coop challenge once a month the most.

The part of this game I liked best was you played at your own pace and where not forced to do events or compete. You have taken almost all of that away now and the whole dynamic of the game has changed to compete compete compete with very little options for not doing events.

Co op championships every two weeks is too much , we like the game , but for pity's sake show some restraint, we don,t want it.
Will send as many messages as it takes, there are many players that think the same. Many of them don't use forum, that may change , please take note

@stef7 (US1)   I understand what you're saying about it being a whole different game because I've been here a long while myself and have seen all the competitive features added one after another. The reason is pretty obvious. There will always be a certain percentage of players who are very competitive and don't like to lose. And they'll do anything to make sure that doesn't happen, no matter what the cost. The company knows this and exploits this by competitions. But having said that, I also have to add that you're not forced to compete. You can ignore the competition and the rankings and just go on with your regular farming. That's what I and my coop do. If you do that, you'll find that it's more like the game you first fell in love with. <3  That's my opinion, and I'm stickin' to it! :)

Yeah, NEVER, EVER, to take a risk competing in the one that you couldn't afford it. Better to stay on your regular gameplay rather than trying something that cause a major problem on your game and your real life (I've experienced this by quitting this game since 2015 and return on May 2017)

Very nicely said, John.......I agree!  We are not FORCED to do anything on this game......I play at my leisure, sometimes I play because I feel the need to help out the co op, I mean there are some things that have an urgency to them.......We're a laid back group, so it's pretty much whatever one wants to do for each player.......We pull together as a team when we need to, and when we don't feel the need, we just farm as usual........nobody forces me to do anything I don't wanna do, lol......I love this game and if I ever get so miserable at playing it, well.......there are thousands and thousands of OTHER games on the internet to choose from!!  I hope no one takes offense, but geesh........There's also such a thing as goin' overboard with complaints!!   :s

Oh!  and in the spirit of my buddy Columbo.......One more thing.........We all need to stop and think that perhaps this game is indeed geared toward an older group of people.........or the disabled.......or shut ins.......whose only enjoyment of life is THIS GAME!!  They are good at it, and with the competitions in play, they SUCCEED at it.......This game can become a huge part of a person's life, y'know?  Sometimes, it can be the only thing that they ARE truly good and successful at doing..........Now, am I saying that they need to "GET A LIFE"??  No I am not.......I am merely saying that if you are a 20 or 30 something, with a family, a job, activities outside of this world, then just maybe this game isn't for you.......Image result for gifs columbo one more thing

Maybe, but statistically speaking, it's generally the older demographics who enjoy the casual, laid back building games, and a younger group who want more and more competition and more bells and whistles.  The feedback in this forum seems to support this..

Working long hours is hard enough to log on daily, having Championships so close together is to much.

I'm rapidly joining that "older" group.  Not a shut in by any means but still, I DO have a life outside this game.  Sometimes, back when this game was more fun, events were actually reachable, upgrading not score was my goal. I would sit here and hours would fly by.   Now?   I'm in the coop challenge, but after I've harvested everything? I'm out the door.   NOTHING about this game is holding me here anymore.   Events are totally unreachable for me now.  Even the second highest prize means a full week of insane clicking and a little spending.  PHOEY!  For what?  Another piece of deco I haven't got room to actually put up?

Prizes that require gold spending are not "prizes" are they?

Then they keep adding more and more complicated stuff without IN GAME explainations.  I don't have time to sift through endless forum threads, download cheat sheets.   Again PHOEY!

Now there are tons of "prizes" I don't even know what they do or what they are for.  So do I want them?  NO!

I'm only finally realizing the whole coop village is nothing but a money drain.  I don't see ANY profit from it.
Just keep upgrading buildings that never pay anything back.    I think it's time to stop planting any side crops OR buying any more village dollars.   The whole thing was very poorly thought out.

Yea this game is more of a drag lately.   And I've been on it far less than usual.   TONS of free games out there.  The developers better get a clue fast or this one may go away sooner than later.

All I can say is that i certainly hope GGS has taken out the Lobster cages as one of the HWE (fishing) prizes.

Everyone has been asking for a sell button for unwanted fishing equipment and instead of listening to the players, the developers go and give us unwanted fishing equipment as WWC prizes.  I had finally gotten rid of my last John and now I have 131 in storage from prizes.  :s:#:#:#:s

I have been playing this game for about 5 years too and yes it really has changed.  And quite frankly I like alot of the changes.  This is one thing I like about the game it is always evolving.

Like others have stated no one is being forced to participate in any of these events if you don't want to.  I don't always do the temp farms.  I don't always do the camping or fairytale etc events either.  I participate in the CC events cause you get lots of goodies along the way.  I certainly don't play 24/7 during that event or any other event for that matter.  I do what I can when I am on.  If your co-op wants to opt out of the CC event you can.

I use to think I had to participate in everything and believe me I tried to do it all and once I stopped doing that the game became enjoyable again.  I play this game to relax not get stressed out.

The reality is that these events generate money and probably lots of it from those who what to finish first or somewhere on top.  This is how these online games work.  I can't see this game going anywhere anytime soon.

There is a lot of the game you are forced to play or you hurts the other coop members.

Prime example is the Christmas event if you log in and ignore the event everyone in your coop is effected and loses out.

That means you are forced to play the event and that is just one example. Most of the challenges are the same way if the coop wants to participate you have to play or you hurt the other.

There should be a way to opt-out.

Or join ours..  We leave everyone to do their own thing.  Don't like competition?  No biggie.  (Neither do we!)

No, not trying to drum up business, but @Stef7, there are many coops out there who couldn't care less about the Village or CCs.  Or as Boer Bartels has said, play without a coop.

I get that but we should not have to play without a coop. There should be an opt out like we had way back when the first coop challenges came to the game. If you did not play it you did not get the reward but no one else was hurt by it.

I left a top 5 coops after 2 years, I am a good player even won a few of the first prizes for 1st place in the coop challenges. BUT I do not want to play like that any more. I do not want to be paying a game every second I am home and I am a end of life care giver who will not play while I am at work.

I started my own coop but we still should have the opt out option so you do not have to leave a coop due to way to many competitions.

The game has changed over the years and it has gone from fun to stress for for way to many people and it is to bad. Have had lots of friends and other players say the same thing. Most no longer play. I guess it is time for me to join them and find a new game as the change has ruined the game.

A simple thing like an opt out would have keep the game I loved as well as made it a competition fest for those that want it that way.

Any way enough said it is what it is. Time to play something else.
  • Don't know, why do we have to play like a worker?

    Do we get pay?
No, we pay them money buying gold.

    Do we get our option?
No, they change everything they want.

    What's players right?
    They don't care.

    Why do we still here?
Cause we spent money, time, passionate to built our farm all the way here wasn't easy.

    Am I feel disappointed?
    Yes, very much.

Did players choose to leave this game?
    Yes, quite many.

    Should we?
