Revised Coop Championship Schedule

Hi Everyone,
As a result of the last CC being postponed & feedback from some communities, expressing a preference for having the CC at weekends, they will now always start on a Friday, beginning this Friday (March 24th) & then every second Friday after that, April 7th, April 21st and so on.
Your BF Team

Come on GGS...this is becoming silly.  You changed CC from once a month to twice a month (24 times a year) and now it's every 2nd Friday (or 26 times a year).  Please tell us which "communities" have expressed a preference for having CC on the weekends.  It wasn't this community.

This seems like another flagrant gold grab and importantly it deprives many players from the opportunity to enjoy the game.  Many members have busy weekends, and others busy weekdays.  Under the current schedule, options are available for both groups of people.  Not under the 'Revised CC Schedule' - only weekend players can participate.

If you want to improve your bottom line then you need to concentrate on adding value to players (better buildings, improved yields, etc...).  Simply increasing the frequency of events or changing the appearance of things (skins) are not viable long-term profit makers.  In fact, they are turning people away from the game.  Don't kill the golden goose.

totally disgusted what they av done to the CC, i av players off on a weekend, they work all week and there days of WEEKENDS, they go out with there families, so when exactly are they suppose to help and join in .

i dont understand why u av changed it, there was nothing wrong with the old dates, at least it was more fairer it worked out different days of starting the CC.

thanks guys from the grafters , really good of u

    I agree completely with @angie50 (GB1)

the CCs should start each time in a different day of the week to allow everyone to participate

Beside that, the CC has become more frequent than it was until now, this in total disrespect of the protests posted in the English forums by the many players who pointed out that the CC was way too frequent

Since the beginning of this year, the CC happened twice a month (2 times every 30 or 31 days), but from now on it will be twice every 28 days

The change has been announced with a message by GGS that seems very deceptive in my opinion. Highlighting (and not hiding)  changes / differences to customers is a must for any good company

Maybe not the designer fault this time, deceptive nonetheless

I have to say I agree with this. Weekends only favours one group of people over another, random start days were inherantly fairer.

    Questions

    And why so often?
Every 2 week? Way too often. Once or 3 times a month is far enough.
And why only for weekendens? Thats strange.

Most likely not going to get an answer on the above, but still. *sighs*

i have to agree set dates were better and more fair that way sometimes it started during the week and others on weekends i think they will find less people playing i know i for one can not play as much on weekends
  • The 1st and 15th is to often for my liking, but the game is turning into a money grab so there it stands.  But at least it was a schedule that benefited all players.  the start day rotated through the week so you were more active in some and less active in others.  4 days long spread it out pretty good over the week and most included weekends.  Now, if you are like me, and work in the restaurant/retail side of life.  You have been eliminated from basically participating in this event as weekends are your busiest time of the week.

CC can be skipped rather than postponed when clashing with other events

There was no need to change schedule and this is not a " ...... result of the last CC being postponed.... " as announced in GGS message, rather a clumsy effort to minimize and / or hide the increased frequency of the event itself

    Moreover,
CCs should start each time in a different day of the week to allow everyone to participate. Set dates were ensuring just that

I agree with this. I do not prefer to play on weekends at all. Monday or tuesday was better.

Wow the people above have said it all and this has been talked about before transparency and working with good intentions with the players  I tried to see your side in the twice a month CC  spoke out for you  then you do this and disappoint.  Really baffles me how you ignore players needs  prime examples are NO GOLD safety of any kind, twice a month CC  Take away toolbox formula that was here from game inception and now claim a mistake hilarious if it wasn't such a sad move on GGS  part.  Kudos  for the St pat event  but this is not going to keep players in the game and buying gold. No answer ever other than NO-- so we are left to make our own deduction of possibilities GREED -- Don't Care-- Stupidity--- other games provide this safety feature so why does GGS think it does not need it. We have people here but not one of them will answer  other than to say No we know you want it but have NO Plans to implement.  WHY

i dont think i see anyone mention on the forum about weekend only. did anyone else see anything about changing it ?

there was plenty of players , including me , complaining about twice a month.

it was fairer the other way , soon it would land on a weekend anyway .

I would much rather see the CC run once a month for 5 days or even every 6 weeks for the 5 days, but not every 2 weeks. There is very little time to continue to develop ones farms in order to do a little better during the next CC. Not to mention the other events running.
  • angie50 (GB1)angie50 (GB1) GB1 Posts: 223
yeah data king, 5 days on a set date, once every 4 to 6 weeks.

when the village starts, we will av that to deal with as well, challanges etc

Adding my voice to the chorus:

1-I am not sure that communities have asked for weekends only.  Random start times -- some during the week, others at weekends -- ensured that everyone got their preferences once in awhile.

2-What communities have been asking for is more time between CCs, not less.  Every other week is beyond the pale.  Yes, coops can skip them, but they will fall in the rankings if they do.

It is quite evident that GGS pays no attention to consumer feedback.  If the top tier of the company would hire outside marketing consultants and listen to them, they just might save Big Farm.  Right now, it looks like they are intent on running it into the ground.

I saw nothing on thee forum about changing it to the weekend only.  Stupid idea, it was much better once a month.

C'mon GGS listen to the players.  You have taken the fun out of the game, I used to enjoy the CC once a month, now it is going to be once a fortnight, too much pressure together with all the other events going on at the same time.  Would not be surprised if you get a lot of players leaving because of this which would be a massive shame.

I have no interest in whining or slamming GGS, but UncleJohn says it neatly: "Weekends only favors one group of people over another, random start days were inherently fairer". I do completely agree, playing the CC only during weekends wouldn't be a good idea IMHO.

we are not whining , we are stating our opions, alot of us have had enough , i dont usually complain, but what they have done will have players leave, ive one in my team who spends her weekend with her husband and this CC is getting in there way.

players have commitments on a weekend , have a think about it GGS, how this game is affecting players lives .

I agree with everybody....weekends are family day (especially for me, That's the only time my girls are home). @angie is right GGS made a very wrong move here. We have real lives to live, we play to relax and de-stress but GGS is is making the game too stressful... :'(:(
  • Another typical move from this game, if its working properly, make changes and destroy it.

Whining and slamming  guess I know who that's meant for!  Constructive criticism is the intention  saying all is well is not keeping new players in the game or existing players to buy gold with money they earn in the real world. Players perception of fair is what counts and ridiculing those who want to see a safety for their gold purchases by calling them childish and putting the blame on them was not helpful in the least. The cat is out of the bag other games have these checks and balances integrated into their games. Numerous players have shown developers how easy it is yet they still refuse so what are we to think but Negative thoughts about the frame of minds of those on high????????????  What is asked for is possible, is being done elsewhere. We have some control over if we play CC or not every two weeks  we have no control over a misclick that causes minor to major gold loss.

I spent all afternoon in expectation at least one thanks for changing CC date....
    Where are they happy farmers?
    Definitely not in our coop...
    I totally agree with angie50 (GB1) .
We weren't happy with growing frequencies of cc...we adapted to it...because we love this game and we, in fact, continue  play  despite all improvements...
GGS, stop trying to fool us...PLEASE...think it over xxx

So I'm guessing that on opposing weeks, we'll now have the HWE every 2 weeks as well?

I really do not see the point in complaining again. GGS made there decision in doing this and we just have to life with it. Why do people always complain if they change something, just embrace it and do not play if you do not like it.

Better to compliment them on telling us in advance, you have an advantage over other players and coops for knowing when CC is starting.

If we are a 'community' and if GGS does listen to their communities, then it's important that we express our ideas and views about the game.  Leaving the game in frustration or not creating a positive environment for new players hurts everyone.

The hope is that folks will share their views and GGS will listen.  So far, all responses have been for keeping CC the same (starting on the 1st & the 15th of each month).  No one has expressed an interest in weekends only.

I understand that once a month is not enough for them (in terms of gold sales and money making opportunities).  They do have to make money, and we all need to be able to recognize that.  That being said, I was much happier with the 2nd and 16th.  It would sometimes be on the weekends and sometimes not.  I thought that was more fair.  Also the second CC each month would be sometimes 16 or 17 days apart, which was nice.

I suspect that they did not want to wait until the 2nd of April, so instead, they just threw out the old schedule and imposed a new schedule..... just to fit their need to not wait until April 2.  I hope that they will return to "dates certain" like before that sometimes fall on weekends and sometimes not.

What this further tells me is that they should have run it, right alongside the Leprechaun event, and kept the schedule in place.  They have run it at the same times as the HW and other "big" events in the past, so it would not be without precedent.  When you deviate from the schedule this quickly and easily, it means that really there is no schedule.

If this is to be the schedule, then stick to it, no matter what.

I think @gavinfarms (US1)  you spelled it out they did not want to wait for the cash cow until April 2 nd so this whole dreamed up lets have it on every other Friday schedule is sprung on us.  I agree we were all waiting for the event and then nothing not our fault but theirs so why didn't it run on schedule no answer just throw this at us. Respect should go in both directions and I am not feeling it. Well when spring arrives and there are not enough players buying into this new week end  schedule I am sure things will change yet again.

What I find frustrating is that GGS used the excuse that they shortened the Temporary Farm length (from 30 days to 24 days) due to "Customer Feedback about not having enough time to recover from one (Temp Farm) to the next and not having time to focus on our main farms", yet at the same time use the exact *opposite* logic on the Co-Op Competition.  I haven't seen a single person in the forums who has said "Why yes, GGS, we WOULD like the CC more often than twice a month"; in fact it's been quite the opposite.

And we haven't even started the Village League yet. That is going to throw a HUGE monkey wrench into the works, as it's like a *constant* CC running 24/7/365.  If you're looking for a gold sink, GGS, get the Village done. Then maybe reevaluate bringing the CC back to a once-a-month schedule, and let the Village League pick up the slack.

never seen anyone mention ever that champs twice a month was a good thing, seen plenty say it's too often

dont know where their focus group is coming from but doesn't appear from to be from the people who play the game
  • janflipflo (GB1)janflipflo (GB1) GB1 Posts: 388
Hoorah Corvid totally agree.  I must have been on holiday when twice a month was voted for.  My coop have voted to opt out of doing coop challenges completely.  There is no fun or anticipation now more of a drag.
