250 seaweed greenhouse humus!!!

Ok, Ive only seen 3 seaweed greenhouse humus so far in a few months as a 47/50 and 50/50 reward on St Patricks Day. So I am excited as I finally obtain a few. I'm thinking to myself if 1 seaweed humus can speed up an 8 hour sunflower then it should only take 1 to speed up a special apricot right? WRONG!  It takes 250! seaweed greenhouse humus, this is also the same amount of regular humus that is needed. Please tell me this is just a technical input error. There is no way anyone would ever spend 250 of a very rare item, if they were to even obtain that many, to speed a 1h20m item to an instant item. Yeah the 125% bonus is nice but not THAT nice.

@GwynethAngie (US1)   Each seed uses a different amount of humus, the special seed for the most expensive fruit (depending on which temp farm it is) uses 250, but the standard seed for the cheapest fruit only uses 1.

Standard lime/gooseberry/elderberry seeds: 1 greenhouse humus.
    Standard grapefruit/rose hip/fig seeds: 2 greenhouse humus.
Standard pineapple/blackberry/passion fruit seeds: 5 greenhouse humus.
Standard honeydew melon/cloudberry/apricot seeds: 10 greenhouse humus.

Special lime/gooseberry/elderberry seeds: 25 greenhouse humus.
    Special grapefruit/rose hip/fig seeds: 50 greenhouse humus.
Special pineapple/blackberry/passion fruit seeds: 100 greenhouse humus.
Special honeydew melon/cloudberry/apricot seeds: 250 greenhouse humus.
  • I'm talking about "Seaweed" Greenhouse Humus, the very rare reward from special events. For St Patty's Day event the highest reward 50/50 was only 3 "seaweed" greenhouse humus. At that rate I would have to finish that event 85 times just to have enough "seaweed" greenhouse humus to speed one of the 310,000 special seeds. My point being, there has to be an error with the requirement. I understand that regular greenhouse humus is 250,100,50,10,2,1 etc. No problems with those requirements being there are several ways to accumulate them. However, as far as I know, there is only one way to obtain "Seaweed" greenhouse humus.

There's multiple ways.  You can make it in the Laboratory at level 18, and you can also get it from the Mystery Boxes (Silver I know for sure, as I've pulled 20 out of one of those once).  There's got to be other sources for them as well though, as I've got 80 of them saved up so far and I'm pretty sure I remember them dropping as a reward for something before the St. Patrick's Day event. Can't put my finger on what it was, though.

Oh wait, I remember - You could buy 5 of them for $1 from the "Monica's Flash Deals" we had during Christmas/New Years. That's how I got most of mine.

Still, they're rare. So rare that they're basically unusable. Even if I *had* a level 18 Lab, I wouldn't use the 140 regular GreenHouse Humus needed to just make *10* of the Seaweed version.

Exactly, this is no prize at all.  I'm hoping we can dump ,er, donate them at some upcoming event.

I'm not sure why anyone is surprized that the final prize of 7 seaweed greenhouse humus is not  a real prize. Does anyone have any use for the catalyzer prizes we keep getting as prizes in so many events?

I would venture to guess that it is a very small percentage who use them.  I keep thinking it's their plan to try to force people to use the lab.

I thought the amounts of seaweed humus would be the same as regular greenhouse humus, which was why I said they were not all 250, but I have never had any, so if they are all 250 that is shocking & I stand corrected ... But I also agree that for such a rare item, saving up 250 is a lot to ask.
  • I truely believe that SEAWEED greenhouse humus was intended to be the same as seaweed humus on the regular farms. If the only way to obtain it besides events is to pay cash or a level 18 lab then that just eliminated 99% of Big Farm players. It would be nice if a developer or moderator would tell us if this was an error. Using 1 seaweed greenhouse humus to speed up a seed is definitely not overpowered. Especially with the short amount of time that most seeds take to create (30m-1h20m). In the meantime I will hold on to mine, not that I have much choice, until there is a clarification on whether this is in fact an error.
  • Hey @GwynethAngie (US1) It is intentional for the amounts of greenhouse humus and seaweed greenhouse humus needed to be the same.
  • So the final reward on St Patty's Day Hard Worker Event was enough humus to speed up 30 fig seeds in greenhouse to save 20 minutes of harvest time? I still think this has to be an oversight somewhere. If 1 seaweed humus can speed up an 8 hour sunflower it is just unrealistic that it would take 250 greenhouse seaweed humus for the same process on greenhouse.
