Co- Op Championships

Ok... I know ...this is hardly a new topic......but unless we keep pushing, GGS are never going to change. Lets accept that GGS "need" events like this to pay the bills.  Let's also accept that "worldwide" across all their servers, they have players who will continue to "buy"  their way to victory at any cost, and then of course the many, many, many who never will.

The general  "chat" when playing is that ä lot of people have lost heart and interest  - not good for GGS.  The gulf between the "payers " and  "non payers" is growing - as is the frustration.  GGS have even sent out Survey messages to players - will they listen ?

By all means, continue with the CC - after all - it pays the bills, but in its current format - for how much longer ??

Have 2 CC's  -  they can run together  -  one allows people to use the buy gold  and buy Seaweed  - the other is open to those who simply want to pit hard work and effort against other like minded players  - no artificial boosters.

Clearly the prizes on offer would be commensurate, but at least it would give back some interest to people rather than what we have now.   Yes...I know the rules allow it, but buying your way to a win.   Hmmmm  I think somewhere the Olympics gave it a name.

Anyway ... unless we keep pushing for change ...nothing will ever happen.

I can't believe players are still complaining about CC, just do what I do and totally ignore them.  I have been in winning co op many time but under format now, I totally ignore them, so does my co op.  Most of us only do the daily mission as per normal play and play our farms as if it was not even there.  Just because it is there does not mean you have to do it.  Just got to get your mind set right and tell yourself to forget totally about and the more players that forget about makes it easier for the golders and then they have to gold less then you may see a change, but if you continue to play the golders spend more therefore current format stays.

DO NOT DO MISSION EVER WHEN CC IS ON

BTW anyone who wants to join a co op on AU server which totally does not care about CC contact me and you can join us.  Mission in our Co op are actually discouraged, but not banned

I think along different lines......if a group is going to resort to buying wins i'll use the resources I have on my farms to make them buy and use even more gold and make CC's a very costly event for them.

There are groups on AU server playing fairly so I don't mind a good competition with these players. We pick up some decent hard work rewards along the way and at the same time keep GGS pockets full by shaking gold out of the rank obsessed players  :D

  • Could you please change the grand prize of the CC after 4 or 5 times. Would like to also have the chicken, pig or goat.
  • Our little group likes to try and keep the competitive juices flowing, so we endeavor to maintain our position in the Bronze League Level CCLXXXVII (actually, I think it's 4, but tomato, tommahto).  However, I recently had a Member apologize for earning XP's by spinning the Wheel of Luck (or Fortune, sure, we can go with that also...).  Since when does a friendly internal competition turn on the spin of a wheel?  I had no idea that Wheel spins counted towards XP's earned during the Competition...

Perhaps you didn't notice, but they've already changed the grand prizes for the Gold League to a "pick your reward" style. You now have a choice between the Co-Op Apple Orchard, Co-Op Cherry Orchard, Dandy Duck Coop, Gary the Goat, or a Rustic Cute Apple Orchard (Skin).  There are no Co-Op Chicken Coops, Pigstys or Goat Pens.

I rely on those wheels when I'm too lazy to participate. ;)

I don't mind the CC's, personally.  Just another opportunity for more free stuff.  I won't go out of my way to gold a mission, I won't typically use special seeds, I don't EVER use seaweed.  I just pretty much constantly keep a mission running, and if it happens to coincide with whatever I'm growing or have ready to harvest at the time, great! Otherwise, I have no problem finishing a mission with "0".

The points all add up in the end, and overall everyone (in the Co-Op) gets free stuff - Mystery Boxes, Karma, Lucky Charms, Seaweed, Sunflower Seeds, Horseshoes, etc. I'm not going to AVOID doing missions just because I can't "win" them. Couldn't care less about that, and everyone in the Co-Op pretty much feels the same way. It certainly doesn't HURT to keep a mission running constantly while you're playing, and I'm not going to stop growing Corn just because a Rutabaga mission pops up (as an example).

Sure, I might only get 10 certs here, 20 certs there. But then there's times when I get a mission that coincides with what I'm growing *anyway*, and BAM.. 100+ certs or more. :)

It all adds up at the end of the day. :)

I actually get so much greenhouse humus from the cooperative championships I can't use it all before the next one, which means I don't have to use the tractor and can save my certificates for upgrading other machines.

As @Byron Longford (AU1)  says "I can't believe players are still complaining about CC, "
I just looked up the definition of the word co-operative, it said
"involving mutual assistance in working towards a common goal."
If your goals in the CC are not the same as the rest of your co-op then you're in the wrong co-op!
From the previous comments it is clear that different co-ops have widely different approaches to the CC, go and find one with which you have a "commom goal".  Simple!

I'm not sure that running 2 different CC's, one with gold use & one without, would really balance out as many co-ops have players that are gold buyers & those that don't buy gold. It wouldn't be fair, imo to have the co-op entered into a competition where the players that choose to use gold, seaweed & boosters wouldn't be able to. I think it could cause more problems within the co-op. Sometimes I use gold or seaweed in missions, not because I care about winning but because sometimes I don't have as much time to play so I try to reach my limit & shelve as many missions as I can to help my team earn more points.

The village league will be coming some time or another & I'd say a lot of co-ops will be discussing what they want to focus more energy on. Some may say forget the CC altogether & only focus on the village league & some may welcome the challenge & want to do everything. There will certainly be a lot going on between the league, CC, & projects so we'll just have to wait & see how it all balances out. :)

Actually I meant prize 106, changing the cow balloon
  • To quote Uncle John; 'I just looked up the definition of the word co-operative, it said
"involving mutual assistance in working towards a common goal."'  And, based on past experience, I thought it meant "join, do nothing, log in once a week to keep the Leader off yer butt, yet still accumulate prizes based on the hard work of others."  How silly of me...

Well… I can't remember the last time I was in a coop that actually one a coop prize.   But I still play the challenges.  IN fact the ONLY time I do missions is while that is running.   And I don't spend much in gold.  Might push a crop once in awhile, but only if I'm close enough for it to matter.   And any cash spent is money the game dribbled to me.  Without any form of safety to prevent accidental spending, Im simply not.

Now the challenge event does provide everyone in the coop with little prizes along the way.  builds up certs for the farm machines.  (Honestly, I only use one, the greenhouse fert.)
So that our coop never "wins?"    So what.   Just here to play a silly past time game.  It's still fun.

  • Regarding the use of the wheel during cc- It could also be used as a fast way to get special seeds and humus, etc.. We had a member actually disappointed because when he spun it he got points and not seeds, which is what he really wanted.
  • I attempt to use the CC as a way to try to get the group to cooperate and communicate with one another, work together to win greater prizes, but unfortunately it doesn't always work as well as i would have hoped. projects and other activities also, but some times the same kind of luck. Tried incouraging the larger lvls to help the smaller ones to push them some, and not always getting the result i might have liked, plus with ppl leaving or having to drop, spending more time recruiting then playing the game and working the farm. getting discouraged after a long time of this, but still hanging in. If others did too, the results might be better.

I got tied of doing CC when I was one of few doing all the work and others doing 0 and getting rewards from my work.  I don't mind if small farms do what they can, but when you see they have logged on and did 0 missions, that peaved my off, they can do 0 mission and get ALL the rewards this is wrong.  GGS need to put a minimum amount of rep points done per player before they receive ANY reward, As soon as player reaches the minimum ALL rewards the co op has achieved to that point are credited.

The amount does not need to be very high, I would think about 10k rep points over 4 days would be ok.  This is achievable by any farm

Either that or make them *personal* rewards instead of Co-Op rewards - with a much lower point value requirement, of course.. So instead of 6 Million points, the "top prize" might only be 600,000 points.  And then still keep the top 10 Co-Op prize rankings (with prizes) as they are.

This would encourage everyone in the Co-Op to participate and do well in missions, at least if they want the individual personal rewards.. Instead of (just) doing 1 or 2 missions over 4 days and collecting ALL the rewards.
  • I have been in a co op where some members do 0 missions and get all the rewards, I don't mind helping the smaller farms out as long as they are prepared to do some work themselves

To be honest the small co-ops probably get so discouraged about being placed in a mission with someone maybe level 200+ they probably feel why bother?? GGS should think about doing some sort of tier levels the same as they do in the HW, where they feel they stand a chance,   I enjoy being able to help win prizes for the guys on a lower level in our co-op, but also usually everyone takes part and no matter how many points they score they are made to feel it has been a joint effort.

The RP in a mission are dealt in a way = your effort + per*(total effort), where per is a pertcentage depending on a place. So a player with a small level that is placed in a mission with a higher level can acctually get much better result (RP points) then if he plays only against lower levels. The best option acctually is if you end up in a mission of 6 with one heavy golder and end up in a second place. This way you got the RP you earned yourself +90% of RP earned buy the heavy golder .

What about keeping a running tab for each participant on approx how many rep points they can get based on their lvl, amount of participation in mission, an how much is put into the mission in total by those participating. I know this may involve some extra computer time for the programmers, but may be worth the effort. If you are in say fourh place this number is lowest, and if you feel you can't participate for enough points you drop out and points are divided among those remaining. Just another idea for discussion.May encourage more participation if you know about what amount of points you could get, and if you place low and others are not putting much into the mission you leave and wait for another. With some encouragement you may even get ppl to get more into the CC to help the group.
