We are offered a random selection of the 50 horses above us in the league (ladder) and the 50 horses below us. If you have been racing a lot (buying extra fuel?) you will have moved up amongst horses that are all better than you.

I never understood the racing at all.  The number by each player seems to make NO difference what so ever.
I can lose to a level 30 and win the next one against an 80 something.   what ever that number means has always been a mystery to me.

Basically all I do is pick one of the three events, usually the lowest number and click, skip, click skip… until I run out.    Gradually I move up to roughly the same spot every time.   Somewhere in platinum or gold depending on how often I even play.
It's really become kind of a snooze.

Apart from your "NO" being a little bit sweeping, I agree with you entirely.
I do sometimes lose to lower level horses and occasionally beat the big boys but it is more usual to be the other way round. I will always choose to challenge a horse of lower level than mine rather than one of higher level because I do have a better chance of winning, it's not a sure thing, but definitely a better chance.

I reckon that, unless you spend a fortune on extra fuel, where you finish a tournament is all down breeding and training and the actual tournament is indeed a kind of a snooze. As long as you go through the motions you wil end up where your horses levels dictate.

I would be interested is any Diamond League players wanted to share their strategies.  :¬)

@Uncle John (GB1)  You summed it pretty well there John. I just have 1 horse now, level 115. I don`t use any gold, in fact I don`t even use cash most of the time, he just plods his way through the leagues, collects all the rewards & usually gets into Diamond around 12th place. As more horses reach a higher level than mine, it takes a bit longer each season to get there & I imagine at some point there will be so many better ones that I won`t make it, unless I start training & breeding again to get him levelled up higher, but for now I find the racing a nice realxing way to earn lots of cool stuff. :)

    @RunsWivScissors (GB1)
Thank you ever so much for the response, most encouraging  :¬))
My top horse is a 103 (as I'm sure you're aware as you regularly thrash him (but not always  lol)) and I keep ending up in Platinum 4 or 3 at best. I was beginning to be concerned as to whether I would ever have a chance at Diamond without oodles of cash but you give me hope.  :¬))
His breeding partner is still just a twinkle in some stallions eye but  I am getting there.
  • @Uncle John (GB1) I am holding off improving my horse until we see what the new horse features are, in case it makes it easier, because its a daunting task to get another horse up to the level of the one I have to breed them. So I am hoping he keeps dragging his butt into diamond until then hehe .... He just got there again a few minutes ago, 11th place this time, so he`s still got some racing in him. horse photo smiley-transport012gif

I think there is a math error in the displayed percent chance to win horse races.  I've lost all but one of the last 20 times I've been challenged. My displayed chance of winning varies from 20 to 30 percent per challenge, yet I'm closer to 5 percent wins.

I know long stretches of wins and losses can occur regardless of odds, but I'm well below the displayed average for the 8 months I've been playing Big Farm.

Oh, there's definitely something up with horse racing that I can't figure out..

My level 73 horse lost to a level 10.. nothing surprising there, as that happens sometimes -- until you look at the percentages:

    A level 10 had a 78% chance to beat a level 73? What's he on, steroids? :)

No, stereoids are not enough. Rocket or magic broomstick is more likely :). Or large grasshopper dressed like a horse. :).

Maybe the owner of the "great jumper" pumped all training and spetial abilities in one discipline, but seams strange anyway. If you cross this horse again, choose another discipline. I think you may have beter chances then and some hope to shed more light on this strange superman horse phenomena.
