But since we hardly participated in the last CC, our coop dropped down to Rookie League and towards the end there was actually a little bit of fun, trying to get to 1st place in Rookie (which, ironically, gives 2 gold seeds as reward). Unfortunately we could not quite make it to first.
So yeah, much as always -- usually not fun, interspersed with little bits of fun here and there with coop members, if we're lucky.
We just play it together for ourselves, kind of team spirit thing, don't bother about the whole ranking systems or ranking menu, just ignore those. We only play it once every 3 months and love to see whether we can reel in all the 50 working rewards. Therefore we always have fun with it. If you can't see any fun (or hate it like we do) in buying one's way to the top instead of winning it fairly by working for it, than you just have to find a different way to make it fun for you or ignore the whole thing.
Indeed a pity that the gold flowers have been removed, but that doesn't diminish our fun! And once every 3 months being extremely busy for 3-4 whole days is doable for our coop. And we are always glad when we reach the hard work reward no 50 - as some of these rewards are very welcome to our lower level farmers. That's what we mainly do it for: team spirit, fun and helping our smaller farmers.
We just decided that the fun in the game is more important to us than always getting spectacular rewards; the hard work rewards are fine too, at least to our smaller farmers. There are plenty other features in this game where one does get special rewards for real efforts and/or hard work
This may be unpopular....
But why is it about what you "get".
" I want a prize.!!"
how about the reward that your co op climbed and beat the other co ops, on the skill of your play as a reward?
Take pleasure in that.
Since "buying" wins is never going to end, I do wish the missions took place within the leagues. Rookies pitted against only rookies, bronze only against bronze, etc. I realize this would mean a lot of missions might run with just a player or two, but it certainly would make it more equitable.
The prizes should be the same regardless of the league. Lower leagues have to work twice as hard because playing against us is a dawdle for the top leagues, especially when so many just throw gold at the game.
One observation, it seemed that not as many people participated, at least judging from the Rookie League. My coop is very laid back and hands off -- only a handful participate in the CC. So, coasting along, we almost always ended up with a ranking between 185-200. This CC, approximately the same number of people participated, and we won about the same number of RPs, but we ended up ranking in the 30s. Go figure.
I would guess that most people are in mixed coops like mine. Very active to barely there players, Spends gold like there is no tomorrow to never bought gold at all. It can be stressful when everyone doesn't agree.
For myself for the 1st time ever I never checked to see where I was in my coops ranking. That way I did what I wanted without pushing myself to do more than I was comfortable with.
I think the issue can be with the advantages given to big gold spenders. In order to keep them happy which I can understand that means pitting them against players way below their reputation levels. I consistently found myself in missions against the top 10 players.
Since I don't see why I have to play mission after mission losing just to keep them happy I found my happiness in doing what I could when I felt like it. I am logged in for several hours a day so I got quite a few missions in and even though my farm is pretty big I still hate feeling I have to sit on my cows for hours while waiting for a mission I can use them on.
But the question was who had fun.
No I did not have fun but I wasn't miserable either.
I feel for the smaller farmers during these CC events. There are very few rewards that can actually help the smaller farmer out. So we do a few missions just to see how many of the rewards we can earn as a team and hope the rewards help a little for our fellow farmers.
Well said.
Some posts were removed from this thread. Please stick to the topic at hand without personal attacks & insults. Thank you!
I'm not against debating these issues by any means, but as I understand GG, they read their internal data above our comments. When people stop playing CC, the'll get the message quick and smooth, and that without a single critical post on forums.
Seeing that my post was removed. I am sorry for violating any rules....
With that said.... How do I forward a private message sent to me that is clearly over line of what is acceptable even by my standards.
Back to topic at hand
I am surprised at how many are truly unhappy with the co op challenge.
Yes people throw gold etc. but the challenge is just that. A Challenge!
Play hard or don't, there is space for all of us here.
Enjoy your farming.
