What will the new Co Op Village do to benefit our original main farms and CoOp?

I have farmed on the test server now for a while and participated in building and upgrading the new co op village, however, as I have tried to explain it to my co op on the main server here, they ask me what benefit will it be to our farms now and our co op?  I don't have an answer for that!!  Does anyone?

Ok, Keldeo please elaborate HOW is this going to help and give us advantages you just throw that out there without any supportive evidence of it being so. A lot of players want to know HOW does this tie into our farms.

@Keldeo (IN1) Missing colon after "http" renders your link non functional for me. :) Had to edit it manually to make it work. :)

Appart from that I wouldn't get excited about simple commercial slogans. :) Although I like your innocent enthusiasm I think we'll need a bit more to see if it will somehow benefit our farming economy at all, or if it will be irritting hassle which most players will just ignore. :)

    This should explain :)

It's clearly listed, that the following are there.

    1. A new cooperative challenge :) - much fun isnt it?
    2. A village league with awesome prizes?
    3. New breeding options for the horses - It would be very helpful
    4. A captain who offers some rewards on each visit!

In my personal opinion, this should be fun! and i am waiting for it to be out at the live server.

Not so much fun very costly to small farms to answer number 1  confusing yes no manual no clear directions is what we are finding.  I think you are missing the point HOW is this going to enhance our farms or is it as I suspect just another side game like the fishing. Numbers 2 -4 have not been brought to test server so how we can comment on those I dont know but dont seem to be directly related to our farms either. The horse farm many choose not to be involved with as it is.
Your enthusiam is endearing but I remain skeptical until it proves otherwise.

Keildo  I love ya and i hope  that the devs in GGS take their time about sending this live there are too many bugs floating that need taken care of. Cordeliaanne is in our coop and cant even play due to farm not accepting changes in remodeling we are losing players with all these changes and bugs lets get what is there fixed before we go gun ho with anything else.

You bring up a very valid point @SophiaLorraine (US1) at this point we have no idea of what these factories are going to do for the co op as a whole. I like the team effort required to work on them, but finding it hard to want to progress with further upgrades on buildings we have no idea of what they will do or provide to the co op.
  • Thanks DK, so I guess we just hurry up and wait...... :/

Dont you love how this is marked answered without there actually being an answer. the moderators my guess is that they are as clueless as everyone else and GGS made up a whole lot of stuff that is not about our farms at all. Anyone think diffferently

people have been asking for something the coop can do together for as long as i have been playing and i have been playing for like 18 months so i am guessing this is there way of having the coop do something together but at the same time still be responsible for there own farm so i think it is a terrific idea so far and can not wait to see what else they have in store for it also the stuff you make there you can sell for farm dollars but at this point i do not know if you would be making much of a profit off of them or not
  • I found this link while I was looking around for answers about the cooperative village. It's not much but it has some information to help you out. http://bigfarm.com/us/cooperative_village

When someone starts a thread as a question & someone posts on the thread, it will show as answered. If the OP posts on the thread again, it will show as a question again. Once an answer has been accepted by the OP a check mark will be in the box that says answered like this

As for the village, I think right now its about building the village together but not everything has been added just yet. We'll soon get to see what the village league is all about which looks like we'll have to collect from our farms for it. Here's the OA....
    https://community.goodgamestudios.com/bigfarm/testboard/discussion/139053/update-village-league-21-11-2016#latest
We'll just have to wait & see how it goes but for now its too early to say since we haven't seen all the features yet. ;) Personally, I'm glad the village tournament doesn't involve missions. :D I'll reserve judgement until I know more about it.

Oh, thank you for the information @jess_d (US1)  :)
It is so easy to make unkind comments when one does not actually know what's going on or how things work.

Like you, I will reserve judgement about the new village features until we're "in" it more fully and have had a good chance to explore and make calculations as to whether our coop members can "afford" to get involved in it or not.
The game is getting so many features now (horses, temp islands, challenges, Village, talk of another permanent farm, etc), it seems to me that each of us will have to give some serious consideration as to which features and aspects we will focus on and pursue.

But it'll definitely be wise to first check everything out thoroughly, not jumping to conclusions, in order to make the best possible choices/decisions.

I wish we could work on the village solo. I upgraded the jetty and the wrath poured down. They just want to keep upgrading two building and do nothing else. I have only seen a little activity from the jetty with my one upgrade choice. Why not make the jetty something we can work on individually on our main farms. I love the challenges, I love the game, however, when you have others that decide the best course of action and they are really doing nothing, interest is lost. For the first time since I have been in the game, I counted 2 players counting myself logged in to play, then four this morning. never had it fallen below sixteen that I was aware of and I play at all hours of the day. Hope this makes sense. Just wish the village was a little more solo friendly as certain players want to be leading, with no purpose.

This is frustrating but our coop is doing same at moment as the buildings that supply the goods to the boat & jetty are not high enough yet to produce the goods required for it. So we plod on with builds.

Well there was a reason that the wrath came down on your head as they may just know a lil more than you did. The jetty takes takes takes with so little in return it is humilitating when you see what you got for all that was given much like the village challenge.  People running on their own self will hurting coop plans is not fun for a lot of us. Have to ask did you do the test server to have any idea of what this was all about cause it is not coming across to me that you had. This is a thoughtful process and teams need to be all on the same page working together.

I hear you. I hate the village. I can't keep up with the village happiness level and my co-op keeps upgrading CONSTANTLY. All I do is fall further and further behind no matter how hard I play other events and win village happiness. Frankly, it hurts my feelings as I have told them my position and I am starting to not like the game either.

There are lots of coops out there who aren't participating in the Village -- maybe one of those would work for you.

In the meantime, just keep working your farm as you see fit.  I'm sure you're not the only one in the coop who is in the same boat.  :)

Thanks Artful - I think you are right. I really blame GGS more than my co-op because if I could buy decor, then I would and it wouldn't be a problem. I feel sorry for anyone in any co-op who has gotten left behind though because it takes the fun away and you feel like you aren't pulling your weight by building up the village.

Many in the co ops don't understand that if you are the last vote the upgrade begins automatically after the vote.  I don't think they know they are starting the upgrade until it is too late.  There should be an option to upgrade after all the required votes are in.  As for the challenges, really??  After the first two we are ignoring them as the amounts needed are way more than our co op could ever hope to produce if we all were working on it 24/7, still wondering how we were ranked, it certainly wasn't based on the Co op rankings.  Now I am wondering what those rankings on the co op ranking page actually mean.

There is no need to vote as a deputy or leader can start an upgrade without a single vote. I see that many coop are having the problem of getting everyone on the same page you have 10, 20 30 50, people wanting to run on their own self will.   I am not a fan of this CV village at all with particular HATE with that village league and the Jetty   What was a fun game has turned into a lot of hurt feelings, frustration, tension, disappointment.  Come GGS fix what you broke.  Love this japan event though  we need these developers fixing the mess.

I am a deputy in my coop. I come here every day to read what is going on. After reading how bad the jetty was, I sent a message to our leader asking her to send out a coop message to tell members to stay away from the jetty until further notice. She did. We have players in our coop that have fingers that can't keep from clicking on everything.

I'm tempted to think that GG has done it this way on purpose to create exactly this situation - mess, frustration, pressure - and they would call it "competition" or "enhancement of co-op activities" etc. I'm also tempted to believe that reckless mindless clicker is their main target customer and that strategy or economy aspect of the game has long been forgotten or only used to create the above. And as players complain here I'm not sure these complaints ever register on them. But rest assured that despite all this, Dennis will read his game analysis system data, see the results of all this unwanted activity which players complain about, and probably go somethng like: "Look how many players are participating! It works! It's a success! They love it! Cool, I don't have to worry about these few complainers. Let's develop some more of it for them." :)

Regarding the orignal topic of this thread (see the title), I'm so far compelled to assume that the answer is a big fat NOTHING.

Ditto! I still see no point to the village at all.......measly rewards, confusion and frustration and game lag rendering the game unplayable at times. I just hope the coop village isnt the 4th farm GGS were referring to because that would be very disappointing. Still waiting for word on compensation for 2 weeks of lost medals, 80k's worth to be exact. I didn't get the last chance reward popup at challenge week reset but it seems GGS is ignoring that

WHY WHY WHY are developers SILENT  are they really here  we are asking for answers, asking you to explain how you saw this working and being an enhancement to the game,  NOPE not a peep.  I was thinking the same thing as Kamilcon   Again suggest it is time that you take away that god forsaken hill away or rework it into something more friendly and increase rewards and the same for the jetty. How many customers are you going to lose forever?  I would  have a great deal of respect if you would just admit this did not work out  say WE ARE LISTENING AND WE WILL FIX THIS.

Well, I see promise in the Co-op Village, but I think some things are going to need major adjustment.
As far as I can tell, you can make a decent profit producing with the factories.  I'm imagining that, like the Fish Restaurant, when you get up into higher levels, you'll be able to make a really good profit.
Yarnacle is a ridiculous bust.  Those "gifts" need to be something useful.  And the amounts needed to repair Yarnacle's damaged boat are just silly.  Ignoring him completely for now.
I suspect the Challenge Hill is going to finally reach a level where the co-op rankings hardly ever change and we're always challenging and counter-challenging the same co-ops.  It'll be a nice way to get some extra prizes, but really just a non-event.  And the target production is WAY too high.  I get that BigFarm wants these challenges to be more long term, but right now for the number of members we have in our co-op, they're like two or three-week operations. The result is that pretty much everyone ignores them. They have to ignore them because they need to keep their farms running!  Any production that contributes to the challenge is pretty much incidental.
The horse breeding meadow sounds dubious to me.  Not that many play the horses at all, and I don't see that a different way of breeding horses is going to excite anybody very much.

But what the heck?  It's not like this has much impact on our farming and other co-op activities.  The rewards are too small to want to stretch yourself out for.  Ultimately, the Co-op Village is currently very ignorable.   So I'm perfectly willing to punk along, participating in the Village when I don't have anything else to work on, and waiting to see if BigFarm actually turns this into something interesting and profitable.

@buddy194 (US1)   I so agree with your views. Me too, I'll " plunk along, waiting to see if BigFarm actually turns this into something interesting and profitable."
The HorseMeadow may be useful for lower level players who have the good sense to not play any of the temporary farms. It allows one to improve a horse without the need of horseshoes but it may not be cost effective. (not got enough data yet to try any math)

I feel like its the blind leading the blind with village, jetty + horse meadow . 100 levels for each building ,to what end? extending the game life of the farm + squeeze whatever money GGS can .Not really for me. Have played over 3 years, gone beyond my target level, think its time to find another game that is relaxing + fun, the way this game used to be
