Freeloaders

Hi All

I am needing some advice from the comunity, I have my own coop on the International Server it is a small coop currently only 17 members.
What do you guys do with freeloaders, it feels like I spend most of my time asking people to please participate.  Out of the 17 members, other than myself only 3 others actually make a noticeable contribution the rest seem to only do the daily missions and 6 have done nothing.

To make it worse we had 18 members but one of the top members left due to all the freeloaders.

Do I simply boot most of the members, and if I do how do i find people who are willing to work as a team.

  • First, define your expectations clearly on your co-op home page, so applicants know what you would like of them. You will need to send a co-op note to let your current members know of the new expectations at that point. They may be unaware or unable to play as you would like.

Then, if players are not playing as you like, send a warning note. Be mindful that they may have reasons for not playing though. They may have work, travel, medical, or family issues. This is a game for fun. Please be considerate.

Lastly, it is your choice to remove members, just as it is their choice to stay or go. Advertise in the forum, look for players that are active and looking for a co-op, send notes to confirm their goals and your match, then build your team. I think your co-op will be much happier and more productive then.

If this sounds like more than you want to tackle, you can consider dissolving your co-op and joining one of the more advanced co-ops in your server. Good luck!  :)
  • Hi @AlabasterGamer (US1)

    Thanks for the reply,
I do state clearly that we are looking for active, friendly players that help with research and Coop chamionships, but it is as if people do not read any of this before applying.

Like you said this is a game and should be fun which is why this annoys me, I am wanting to play with a bunch of friendly individuals that help each other, I try to be considerate because we all have real lives after all, what just gets me is that it always seems to be the same small group who help with championships and research, some of the members have contributed les than 20k rep in the last two Chamionships combined.

Thanks for the advise though I will send all the underperforming members a message asking them to be team players, if that does not work I will do a mass cleanup.

Where exactly on the fourum do I advertise my coop

Is it only in the challenge that you are having problems?  Some people do not like this part of the game, I think there is too much emphasis on being top team and this takes ANY fun out of the game.  I am leader of a very small coop, I NEVER do missions and my fellow players are not forced to take part.  The only reason they do any missions at all is to get certs.  I do not take part in the horse ranch and have never opened a temporary farm so have no need for certs.  It really is down to personal preference when you play this game. As previous poster stated, it might be better for you to join a larger advanced coop if you want to succeed in the challenge.  I will say, though, that it would be better if players who DO NOT take part in the challenge were not given any of the rewards, and that there should be a minimum requirement of points before you qualify to receive these rewards.

Hi Doctor, I am the leader of a small co-op where the number of members changes. We are relaxed about most things, but i find the most important thing is that everyone feels like they are valuable to the group which they are. A personal message here and there to have a personal chat to help everyone understand what is going on, as well as group messages to help with things goes a long way to having a wonderful co-op. Not everyone has the same amount of time to invest in the game so those that do have a smile knowing they have helped other people in the co-op have a few nice prezzies. There will always be new members that come and go but at the end of the day, a lovely loyal core group of friends that work together to help everyone else out is a wonderful way to have a co-op.
Talk to your members, help them and see if they see if they want to be part of your group. Im sure you have some lovely people in there, they just need you to talk to them . :-)

Both @AlabasterGamer (US1) & @darte35 (AU1) have great advice. Communication is the real key. Talk to your members new and old find out what and where they see the co op as is and in the future. Go from there :)

    Hi

Thanks for all the advice, I agree communication is the key.
I do have a core of good friendly players that I enjoy talking to, howeverm, yhe core is only about 4 players.
My main problem seems to be communication for some reason excepting for the core group the rest never chat and never respond to any messages I send them.

I feel ya  they do not even respond to hi  who doesnt say hi back to you.  I think your problem is one that most of us have and talk talk talk then boot cause if they are just taking up space someone who might be a contributing member is lost.
  • I boot freeloaders who don't play or participate.

In the BigFarm game, I've found that there are so many cooperatives, it's really difficult to build one when there are plenty of open cooperatives at the top of the rankings. So I'd just try and steal some active members from other co-ops or something like that and replace all those freeloaders :)

With all the small co ops out there I'm sure you could join forces with one or more to make 1 better co op. I don't think there is a need to steal members. If they wish to change then great if not then they are happy where they are. I agree with @Graycat Ashes S (US1) get rid of those who do not want to be a part of your co op, there are lots of players who are looking for a good co op to be a part of.
