Upcoming Championship

I was just wondering how many of you are going to be sitting out this championship due to the high cost of gold for Hot Deals and BOGO's? I for one have stopped buying gold and will not be buying until prices become reasonable once more. The high cost only benefits those who can afford to spend lots of cold hard cash. Which means the rich will get an unfair advantage over those who are on a limited budget as you cannot win missions without spending gold and specialized feed, humus and fertilizers.

I don't believe it is up to the players of this game to support the whole Good Game Studios company. I love playing this game and I am very competitive, but I am walking away from this championship, as I will not support a company, who downsizes and then stops/slows way down in answering support questions.

I would love to hear everyone opinion on this matter.

Now you know how people who can not afford to spend money on a game feels. Doesn't do any good to build up farm, when people with money can easily win missions by buying the win.
  • Yes, gold gives a huge advantage in mission play. But, I will play the Co-op Championships regardless because there are a lot of rewards for the whole co-op that are achievable with or without gold.

My advice is always to play so that the game is fun. If the missions are no fun for you, don't do them, but you will miss out on rewards. I use these rewards (seaweed, special seeds, etc.) in future missions and regular game play.

It is also helpful to change your mindset going into missions. Play to earn RP vs play to win. All missions give RP, and we can shelve those we know we cannot add much more to, so we can play multiple missions at a time - earning many points and certificates in short order. High harvests give extra RP for everyone in the mission, so gold use can be a win for all. Celebrate all progress and rewards.

I do not like that the top prizes are only achievable at a very high cost to the winners, but that will not change in this game. Gold is part of the equation. To each their own with how and how much people choose to invest in their entertainment. No judgement.

I don't buy gold due to a host of issues I've had with non-support.  I do participate in the CCs on a limited basis to get certificates for my farm machines.  You can win missions without buying gold -- you won't win a lot, but you can win.  And, as others have pointed out, RP points are what matter -- and the higher the cumulative score, the more you'll earn, even if you come in last.

I have learned just to play the game my way, build my farm as I can, and not invest too much energy in events that can be bought.

If missions were played within leagues, it might be a different story.

    Totally agree with @AlabasterGamer (US1)
Our team will be also taking part in the CC for the rewards we can earn as group together. Just as @AlabasterGamer (US1) posted above ;)

My group will also be participating we just won't kill ourselves nor exhaust surpluses in trying to attain a big win!  It is obvious that GGS is not going to change the way the CC is handled; there have been many good suggestions/ideas posted by players on the forum but there has been no response from "the powers that be".  We will take the rewards we get and we will be happy with that.  I totally agree that the mindset going in has got to be to play the game and have fun!  Good Luck!!!
  • I didn't say I wasn't going to do missions during CC just that they know how it feels to players who can not afford to invest money in a game. I will play but will hate it.

As the leader of small coop I think we have 12 now and only a few die hard players most dont seem to care about doing missions at all on any day. When I was younger  and new  dreams where everything is possible have faded away now I try to drum up some team spirit to get them to participate at all. It is hard as the prizes have gotten worse and as long as those gold spenders keep up the insantiy it will never be good for the majority of us who spend maybe a little gold to no gold.

Oh jennifer, that is a shame!  Seriously, grab the certificates and the rewards that you can and build your farm up and try to focus on the fact that you are helping  the other members of the cooperative instead and forget about the "high gold rollers".  Most of us are frustrated so you're not alone in that; just play and have fun!

Hot Deals and BOGO's were never a motivation for me, my team is. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose, that's life. Do I spend gold? Sure I do, especially if I used half my farm dollars on a booster and have only 1hr to squeeze most out of it. Besides, this game itself provides us with gold, so why not use it? I don't want a free ride on someone else's back either, when team members working hard and I just sit back and collect rewards?? No no no, not my style. So no matter hot or cold deals, no matter how much gold someone gonna spend, I will participate for my team, for that experience we gonna share, for those small handy rewards and maybe, just a tiny bit, for a hidden inside feeling of pride knowing that I tried my best.
  • I play more than I want during CC just to help out. I need my gold that I get for free or earn with horse or going up a level for upgrades on items I have that need gold to upgrade. I don't see what the big deal is about not doing mission except when CC is here. I like not doing them frees me to plant and harvest what I want for contracts. I gave up a long time ago about getting enough certs for vehicles. You need certs to do anything with them and not ever going get enough certs for vehicles to be useful.

I like doing the cc's I have just started a new co op so we will be in rookie and it will be good to see how we go without the big players that have been in the co op we have come from to see how well we do. I like it cos we are a team and all rewards go to us doesn't matter if they good or bad.  At least we will have fun doing so and I think that is the main thing.

I do the blue ribbon missions whether there is a cc on or not and I have nearly all my tractors upgraded I i use the certificates for my tractors when i use them.

I wish you all the best of luck and remember have fun.

Agreed .. I do it for our team too. I don't care to get a high rank or the top rewards, just working together with my team to get as many of the small rewards as possible (especially the goldflowers and gold license) so we can all benefit from them, is enough for me.  Except that I don't use gold .. .. When I used gold in the past (small amounts) I ended up often in missions with gold spenders, which did not help .. but when I don't use gold, I find myself in missions with players who don't use gold, or at least that is how it seemed to me.

p.s. Hello Ema .. nice to see you here :)  .. will see you in the co-op in a few days :)

  • It would be nice if the rewards were more like the No Pain, No Gain event, it would then seem more worthwhile to spend so much time participating.   As it is, it demands a lot of time for small rewards.

As a coop leader, I do not require our coop to participate, it is  purely optional.  Certainly not going to stress people to take most of time of their day, that they don't have, doing missions for small rewards.

However, each person and coop chooses whether to participate or not.  If you do not have the gold to participate, then don't worry about doing missions as a priority.  Just do what you normally would do. :)
  • I agree entirely, @Thirtyplus (US1)

The Co-op Championships is entirely optional for our co-op, too. No stress. And, better rewards are always preferred. I like "sparkle" rewards from the Twins to add to the fun of the event. More of those would always be welcome. Nice decos are a plus, too. They are great for lower level players and higher level players can give them to Greta. Horseshoes are always appreciated.  :)

Well Jennifer you are mistaken about the certificates I play minimum of four missions every day and have oodles of certificates have most of machines up to level four and some five they do help. I am sure Data King or farmer john could give you a detailed outline of benefits but you can go and read how they help.

Damaria you are right with your posting. We all had the idea that it is not worth of it doing those missions when you have a smaller farm. But it is a process for the long term those certificates. Special in the beginning it makes no sence when you see a coop member grabbing up 3 or 4 million Rp Points during a C-C

But i am as happy with my millons of vRp Points as with the 15K points from a level m35 player. Don,t forget the most of us were in the same position as you are in.

When i had level 78 i had ALL my machines on the highest level. Then it was my turn to help the coop to grab a lot of points. And to explane to newer members with a smaller farm WHY those machines are so important during the game and the C-C

I hope it will mmake a bit more sence for you now.

I agree about not stressing ourselves over it.  Our leader tells us not to overwork ourselves over it, and just do what we can even if a little, and no one is forced to participate, meaning no one would be kicked out just because they did not participate.

It is true that most of the rewards are too small .. but I think many target the gold flowers and if possible they try to get the gold license too.

I did wonder why the rewards for the CC are so small while those for the Hard Workers event are quite big (which is good).  But couldn't think of an answer to it.

  • Well I can not seem to get a lot of certs when you get only 20 to 30 certs a mission. So some of the vehicles are useless to me.Like farm flash have to use 50 certs to get 15 extra bake goods. Not worth my time or what little amount of certs I get.

  • In my coop we slowly lose players and all of them so far has said its because of the coopcha. Some say its the format while most say its the frequency and the lenght of it. The sad part is, its the long time players who leave.
In every aspect this new format is a nerf. In the old format all coops big and small used the same reward table. In this new format, Silver and Gold league ones are so much better than the bronze and rookie league ones, so its surely a nerf isnt it?
In the old format the top 10 coops got a special building while in this new format its only the winner of the gold league who gets one. Again a clear nerf.
All because they want to sell us more gold, while I fear and in some ways can see that instead of buying more gold people leave and find other games instead.

I agree about the reward table.  Since rookie players are thrown up against high level players, they have to work harder just to keep their heads above water.  It's a dawdle for a gold player to beat a rookie, and they advance easily.  The rewards need to be the same across all leagues, or make it so that the missions are played within each league -- rookie against rookie, gold against gold, etc.

oh that would be the pits to lose long term members  I encourage and if I threw people out for not participating there would be two of us giving booster talk got all but two to do maybe four missions whole cc bit its improvement.

Yeah i kinda wish i could but my coop is the #1 coop and it would be unseemly to do so...  besides they are counting on me and i can't let them down even if big farm has let me down.

2 wrongs don't make a right...  although it would be right of everyone sitting out of Big Farm for a bit.
