Temp Farms

I am more then willing to play, obviously because I am.  I am even willing to do the temp farms rip offs that they are, but I got to tell you there is one thing that truly perturbs me.  The fact that after investing millions of our farm dollars as well as those enterprising individuals that give their gold, you get less then ten percent back.  Until I got my coat tail pulled to let me know what one should do starting at least 2-3 days in advance of the temp farm ending I'd be a seriously upset person at this point.  The cash I had left was 628k I got back 10,423 in shells.  Since it's play money in the first place why be so cheap?  I truly feel sorry for those that used gold, my hats of to you.

I have been doing the temp farm since they where brought into the game. After the first couple of times of letting the game demolish them and getting back almost nothing for my effort. I started trying different things near the end of the temp farm like demolishing some of it my self and letting the game do the rest. That is when I discovered that i could make more from the temp farms if I did the demolishing myself. Now I warn all the members of the co op I am in to demolish all they can before the temp farms end to get the most out of them.

Agreed @Data King (US1)  I tested this today and what I had left on the farm I calculated what I would have gotten if I did the demo work myself and what I got leaving it... lost about 130K shells... I calculated about 460K and that doesn't include any island dollars or incidentals and I got 332.5K for it... so yes, if you can do the demo work yourself before the end of the event, DO IT.

Why is this an issue at all given how much we spend where would the big loss to GGS if they gave us proper compensation at the end when they demolish just another disappointing part of the game.

@Damaria3 (US1)  you always get more if you do the work yourself... when you leave it to others you lose a bit... just good ole economics!

Sorry to tell you but once you open one then they all will be available to you to do and the boat will be asking for the exotic fruits that go with them.
  • Yes I think this is a rip off after spending money on these temp farms, I am new and did not know you lost everything you put into it., I will not be doing these temp farms anymore.

If you do not do the temp farms then your boat will be sitting more often than not ;)
Just do the minimum on them for the duration of the temp farm event and you should make enough to buy enough exotic fruit seeds to last you until the next temp farms starts. At least until you are able to get all your farms up to almost max.

To add to what @Data King (US1) said, have a look at this:

    https://sites.google.com/site/phoenixcoopggs/events/airport-events/minimum-effort

And put  the minimum amount you can on the ship to make it last

I understand that completely, but if you level up the bank and all the properties to get the things available and sell the items, produce the items, and upgrade the items as asked don't you think since it's no sweat off there nose nor coming out of their pockets ( its not coming out of ours either)  that at least giving back 10% for the effort would be at least attempt to be fair with players cause every time you go on at the farm it needs money to upgrade, get decos, build or produce so you get that bank up as fast as humanly possible and almost ignore the mains to work that one.  Would it kill them to be at least rational about the situation?

I get yr point but how do you figure out what you lose by demolishing it is a tricky business cause you are losing products possibly

Its not the products so much that you lose, its the incentive to do them at all.  The way they get you is if you open it up in the first place.  If you do the horses which most of us do you have to do the Temp Farm in order to fill the ship so you can get the training horse shoes and that little extra 215 once you fill the ship.  They don't take into consideration that you don't have enough farm money to do the Temps each time they come around so as Data King said each time it's time for a Temp Farm whether you want to participate or you don't you have to or lose out on the large training horse shoe dump.  I've looked at the amount of shoes you get for the 3 main farms and it's barely enough to train one horse per season because it keeps taking more and more horse shoes to train.

Demolishing the things you can demolish yourself before GGS does gives you at least a fighting opportunity to recoup your outlay.  It is still less then 15% on the dollar you invest but at least it's more then GGs gives you when you wait until the TF is over.  Not a math genius here but I do understand percentages and money whether play or real.  I also understand that this is a long play game which will last for years and years.  It wouldn't kill them to compromise a little on what the pay out would be if they were a little more equitable to the player instead of doing what they do.   I understand challenges, farm operation, and business operation all of which have a little give and take GGS has no give in it, but a great deal of take.

    Thanks @FunnyWalker22 (US1) ;)
Keep in mind that even if you happen to open the Temp Farms before your other farms are ready to handle it, you can still do some on the temp farms. I suggest just do the bare bones minimum on the temp farms, until you have your farms well built up. It will take you longer to build up your farms if you happen to open the temp farms to early but one can do the temp farms while continuing to build up their farms.
I agree the tear down is a pain depending on how much you have or want to put into the temp farms. Part of the challenge with the temp farms is the length of the event. Hence Temp Farm. Planning has to be part of your strategy including the tear down at the end. This can be reduced to a couple of things if just doing the minimum on them.

The Temp Farms become available at player level 30.
There is a task/quest that comes up on the left side of your game screen either, asking you to exchange farm dollars for an other currency or a donation of 25 certificates. Doing either of these WILL OPEN the Temp Farms!!
Best bet try not to start the temp farms until you feel your farms are ready to handle it. I suggest after you have your Flower farm up and running well enough to make Honey cream on a regular bases.
