Hey y'all .........I have a question concerning Missions and "sandbagging" please........I have heard that if you "sandbag" a mission opponent, it really messes up their final points, meaning they end up being considerably less in the end........now, my question is this, If an opponent "sandbags" themselves with a ridiculous "gap" between, say 20K pigs and 1200 pigs for instance, do the points end up being less at the end for that player, as opposed to if they had played the mission "normally" with a reasonable "gap" between 1st and 2nd place?

The more players involved and the more collected the more points awarded. The person with the most collected gets the most points and the player with the least collected gets the least points. So it depends on how you look at it.

you not get more if others do more or less. This is a wide spread misconception wirth players.

the points are based on what you get yourself, the amount of players in missions (people with harvest 0 dont count) and mainly your rank in mission.

i got the same points when i was 2 of the 6 with the nr1 having 100,000 eggs as getting 2nd with the nr 1 having 30,000 eggs. Maybe there is a difference of few 100 rep points but that has no meaning

I think you are mistaken there @paultje1975 (US1) I have been in a number of missions where I did not collect as much as I could during the mission and received less rep points then if I had collected as much as I could of the same item against the same number of players.
Now maybe to you a few hundred rep points do not mean any thing to most players and to be honest they don't either to me. It is the certificates that matter IMO to most players. And there to it does matter how much one does or does not collect during the mission that counts toward the amount of certificates awarded to each player involved. IMO

sorry dont understand what you say there data king

ofcourse it depends on how much youself make. if youself make more you get more. But it doesnt mattar how much other make. Maybe a 100 rep point and 1 or 2 certificates. it not mattar much in mine opinion.

belief it or not i played missions wrote down the rep point and certificates and i found out. As i said i didnt get much more if others did very much, normal or little amounts. But compair only figures with same amount of players in mission, same amounts youself get and same rank in mission. and ofcourse let the boosters be the same when you compair, also remember that you get a 10% bonus if you play a second mission as restart of a previous

Let me try to put it another way there @paultje1975 (US1) When I first started doing missions I also took notes on how many players, the item, the amounts collected by each and the total during the mission. I kept track for about a year so I have a number of stats. I also contacted the other players involved and asked them about their rewards after each mission and rather or not they were doing back to back missions so I could include the 10% bonus when it applied. I did noticed that the more that was collected in total gave me more rep points and certificates even if I collected the same amount.

@Data King (US1)   I agree with you.  That is my experience also.  Though never winning or even coming close,  I used to love being in missions with a couple of the big guys, gold users, fighting it out.  My rewards were much improved :)

Edit: See flitermouse below.  That is a more recent test than mine.

I did some tests (although before the latest mission upgrade where more mission types were added) and found the following.

You get a certain number of rep and certs depending on the type of mission, how many of that thing you collect, and what boosters you have.  If you are in first place, these numbers are multiplied by around 2.3, and if you are in second place, these numbers are multiplied by around 1.4. A solo first place finish doesn't get any boost, nor does a 3-6 place finish.

For example, collecting a certain number of eggs gave:
18,704 rep and 217 certs for a first plaece (non-solo) finish.
11,669 rep and 136 certs for a second place finish (even if the mission only had 2 players).
8,204 rep and 95 certs for 3-6 place finish, or for a solo mission.

So the rep and certs didn't depend on how the other people did, only on what I did and on whether I was in first, second, or some other place.

Edit: I did a few more test (after the latest upgrade), and now the top 3 spots seem to get a boost, not just the top 2 spots.

    i agree flittermouse

in mine stats i also saw no different in numbers if the other did much or less. Only thing that really matters is your own amounts, your place in mission, how many people in mission and boosters (incl 10% bonus of restarting mission).

if other have different stats then there is even more broken and inequal in this game then i thought.

  • Thanks everyone for your responses!
  • hmmmm....I think I know what you are referring to. LOL

  •  o:)    SHhhhhh.......LOL

  • Yes there is lots of talk that if you are getting into harder groupings if you "sandbag" and only do a little bit of harvesting in missions you can get yourself moved into easier groupings.  Experiment with it for a few days and see if you can see a difference in the players you face.  It won't take long for you to see that yes it is possible. I see it as yet another forum of strategy in the game, just like adding extra fields/cows/chickens or using humus, seaweed, or gold.

The there is the  new player goes all in and is dropping gold in missions  they get moved into harder groupings rapidly.  Are they are all excited that they have beaten players of higher lvls or was it a simple matter of trying to get those last few certs they needed for a tractor upgrade.  The big difference is they had to use gold to beat the fully developed farms.  The fully developed farms, especially the production farms are able to just harvest normally and sometimes only part of what they have ready of an item.  They often have the choice to win or loose a mission with little to no gold or seaweed used.  If a challenge is not running they might not feel the need to push like the newer player does, plus their tractors are done, they don't need the certs.

That said people often forget that we are playing a game and real life is going on around us, people have to walk off during a mission, loose connection due to internet, computer, electric issues, or they are at work, etc the list goes on and on.  They are accused of sandbagging when it was actually real life.  Since we can't see what others are doing and can't bow out or hang an AFK over our name in a mission we just don't know why someone failed to harvest or did a minimal work. If you try to message people and say I am sitting out often they don't believe you or accuse you of trying to distract them from their harvests.

Then there are in game factors as well.  When the challenge is not running I often hold a harvest knowing that we are about to start a new project that needs that item. Sometimes we are running a project that matches up with a mission and I push harder not to win or do well in the mission but to help finish the project.  Sometimes I working on a limited time market order that causes me to need to push an item count up, if it is during a mission I will post a higher # than normal.  Sometimes I hit start mission out of habit on accident as I am logging off or have just planted cabbage/wheat etc.

There is also the weekly battle to be player of the week, those battling for that title go all in most every mission, using every resource at their fingertips.

So while sandbagging is possible there are other reasons people do what they do in a mission.

you totally right in your post monica.

i also was sometimes accused of sandbagging while in fact i just hit on a habit the restart button while i knew i had to go to bed and was not abble to play. Also it happens that it takes so long to get a mission that i was busy with real life. it happens and people can get really upset for nothing

    but all this is of topic of what the questions was;

the question was does the amount of rep points depends on how much other harvest. so is it effeted by someone who do less or much.

and i again tried it and can say again it does not mattar

1488 feed gave me 3 times 17855 rep points and 127 certificates.al three times i finished 1st and the other did compleet different amount in the three missions. i had a mission where 3 people finihed close to me and i had a mission where everyone did only a few.

In 1 mission we where with only 2 who did someting and 4 who made 0

  • I guess my interpretation of the question was different or was more focused on the part I have in bold below.  I appreciate you tracking of your mission points in the same mission.  Wow that is a lot of feed for 1 mission. It does help to see your #s as I have also heard that you can boost or cut the total rep paid out to everyone in a mission,  to help or hurt other players in the mission, based on harvest #s.  I know before the change to missions we had tracked it and it was true, if everyone worked hard in a mission the final rep was higher than if you were the only one who did anything while everyone else held back. So maybe this is part of what changes when they said they balanced the rep paid in missions recently.   Since if you don't harvest a minimum you get nothing then, I would assume that if you harvest more than the average expected you could push the # up?

@cinnamon (US1) Do you mean like a penalty?  I don't think so.  But the person will stand there for a bit, taking up a space that could be used by another customer.  Not really a problem unless you end up with three hanging around -- that happens to me sometimes if they want to buy things that take a long time to produce, and I need them for something else, like cherries, peaches, donkeys, etc.

    3. Select "signature settings" & paste or CTRL+V into the box & then save.
  • In the Cooperative screen there are 5 shovels.  Do those get filled as you participate in the coop projects?  My question is exactly how do the shovels fill up in that screen?

The red shovels represent your performance in projects for the last FIVE projects you worked on. If you miss working on a project, you'll lose a shovel or two. The more effort you put into a project, the more shovels you'll get. :)
