Is there a chance to increase the horse breeding quality level when both parents have the same bq?

Hey all,

I have read the tutorials and Larino's Corner website on horse racing but I have not found my answer to the above question except a generic one (as the breeding value increases, the chances of obtaining a higher breeding quality increases) that does not answer my question.

Here is an elaboration of my question:

I have 2 horses (both of them breeding value: 38, breeding quality: common). When I try to mate these 2 horses, there is no grey symbol that appears saying I have a chance at a new breeding quality. if I mate them, I get an offspring with the same breeding value and quality that costs less to train. How do I get a chance a new breeding quality?

Must I find two horses of the same breeding value but different breeding quality (e.g. one is common and the other does not even have a breeding quality?

I do not want to breed horses of different breeding values since it results in a horse with a lower breeding value.

Thanks,

First of all you are going in the right direction. Here is what I have found so far on Breeding.

There is a lot more to the horses to get them to the state where they get a higher better breeding quality. I'm thinking it will be with 2 common horses at around level 42.

Thanks for your help data king, I'm not sure if I missed out anything after reading your many posts on horse breeding, but how did you get level 42? or was it from experience?

edit: when I attempted to bred a level 52 common horse with a level 38 common horse, the chance at obtaining a new breeding quality does not show on the panel. I'm sure their average level is >42.

Hi september I was able to get my horse to level 42 through training and breeding along the way. I start with 2 regular, stock, generic horses. Train them both to level 14 then breed. I did this again to get 2 level 14 foals first generation. Trained the 2 foals to level 21 then breed. I did it all again to get 2 level 21 foals send generation. Trained these 2 second generation foals to level 33 then breed. Leaving me with a 3rd generation foal at level 33 which I trained to level 42. Now each and every set of horses I started with were from the same set of parents. I'm currently working on another 3rd generation foal to breed with my level 42 one. I believe this should bring them into a different breeding quality, like a level 2 a step above common.

hi data king, thanks for your patience. However, that was not what I meant. I should have phrased things a bit more clearly. Simply put, can 2 common horses, bred together produce an uncommon (or higher breeding quality) horse? I saw your answer was yes. Have you experienced it before?

Because I have bred quite a number, but it never seems to be the case. Moreover, the panel doesn't show a chance at obtaining a better quality.

I do believe it is possible depending on the the parents and level of those 2 common horses. As I explained in the post above, I have not gotten there yet. I am just starting to get this figured out.
  • thank you, you've been very helpful(:
