An idea to improve co-ops

There are problems with any system including people "gaming" the system. One of those, with co-ops, is "leaders" who recruit, use, then discard members according to tyrannical, childish whim; ignorance, selfishness; etc.

Let's face it: any system that lets someone run a co-op just by paying an initial fee is doomed to disaster

A way that could be better might be by requiring a buy-in (based on player level) so members have an invested interest in the co-op), a pay-out if you leave (with a bonus if it is involuntary - to put a brake on fits of spite) so the co-op has an investment in you and a system of DOLLARS _AND_ GOLD (if player contributed gold into co-op) debt if the co-op doesn't currently have that amount in it's treasury; pay the player immediately and borrow what co-op treasury is short - you would also show this as a negative treasury amount to prospective members

Our system of laws contains the concept of "unjust aggrandizement"; it would be a good idea for this game to be governed by these principles

Well I do use the boot on a lot of players that ask to join then don't show up for days. I don't expect them to donate anything if you can help in coop project great but at least show up.  So many just doing the task then no show.  Very frustrating I want to give everyone a chance but so many dissappointments.
  • Co op rules need to be laid out to new members when they join.  In our co op you are booted if you turn red and have not informed the co op that you will be away from the game, as it is then assumed that you are no longer playing.  All members are told this when they join so it should not be a surprise if it happens.  We have had members who were booted and later returned when they were playing regularly and are good members.

Awesome tip there DxrxbillingGame ;) I believe that all Co ops should have a set of standard messages they send to new members explaining their rules, expectations & requirements as a member of the co op. :)
