Where are the fireflies ?

I know it has been brought up before, but someone just started searching for the fireflies. How many would you expect from an almost complete farm harvest.. 14 chick co-ops, 6 cow sheds, 4 pigs, 6 apple orchards, 6 fields corn, with the 100 chick feed from the mill, the total was 46 fireflies. Before players jump in with the mill/silo pay best etc, we know that but not everybody can live 24/7 on Big Farm. So if they get the same in the morning before work, and the same after work ( a few extra from mill/silo ) they might have 200 fireflies in a 24 hr period.... how many fireflies do you need ? They used some event seeds to completed breadcrumbs but only 1 out of 3 gave the items.. how can they be "event" seeds if they give nothing during the event ! So when we get those wonderful flower seeds from GGS, what are they really worth if they do not pay out any more than wild flower/corn, over same time period ?

  • @Rhomboid (GB1)  46 does seem a bit low, considering a cow can give 20 (or 30 if you are lucky) so with 6 cows I would expect to get at least 60, if only half of them paid out .... Your cows need a stern talking to!
  • update.. 7 fields of the EVENT bean seeds.. only got 40 fireflies from 1 field. Now 40 from one field seems enough, but this is the EVENT seed  A player could probably get almost that from one field  doing WF over the 1hr 20 mins.Almost certain to get more than 40 from 7 WF fields over an hour period.   Not sure if the orchards are supposed to give us fireflies but I personally believe that I have never had fireflies from a Cherry orchard, If I have also harvested a full farm of apples and not had one firefly drop. It never used to be this hard... maybe GGS have been giving away too many event decorations
  • I haven't even gotten to fireflies.  I am working on breadcrumbs, had 6 fields full of wheat and only got one field that paid off with a 20 breadcrumb haul.  How am I supposed to get over 700 breadcrumbs at that rate?  It seems as though these events are impossible to win if you want anything over the stable boy prize.

Indeed it seems like drops are a bit bugged again. :)

There seems to be yet another shortfall on fireflies again ! 7 fertile fields of corn = 1 firefly, 8 level 7 coops = 2 fireflies and 4 level 7 pigs = 2 fireflies, what gives !! At this rate it will take forever to collect the 1,650 required, if it happens at all !!

I also have the problem of very low drop rate on fireflies.  I haven't had anything from the cows for the last 4 events, have tried moving the stables round the farm but still no drop from them.  Planted all my sunflowers last night to harvest this morning but didn't get a single firefly from them!  Have had to resort to planting corn to be sure of getting at least 1 field giving something.  As @lthrrr stated, it is going to take forever to finish this event.

Update:  Have just harvested 2 cherries, 5 apples and 3 magic bean fields for a grand total of ZERO fireflies :( and only 1 field out of 9 corn produced fireflies.

In my  experience, the main firefly givers are production buliding (composter, silo, mill). So, you have to rely mostly on those, to give you the fireflies.

Yes, that is what I have found for the events as a whole, but I always could rely on getting SOMETHING from the cows, and sunflowers were always a safe bet for helping the collecting along.  It seems to have become the fact that it is gradually becoming a 'collect from silo, composter and mill' stage instead of 'from all areas of the main farm' stage.  Getting nothing from the fields at all now (planted violets and roses), a couple of chickens gave - out of 16 coops - and nothing at all so far from the pigs.

Maybe I will put off collecting until this evening, the daylight could be putting the fireflies off ;)

Just an update on appearance of fireflies.  My last two harvests have produced the following:

2 pigs, 9 fields of corn, 5 apples, 16 chicken coops, 50 fertilizer from silo                        =   58 fireflies

5 cows, 2 pigs, 16 chicken coops, 30 fertilizer from silo, 240 chick feed, 9 fields of corn  =  39 fireflies

Really hard work trying to find these fireflies.
