Missions

Exactly how do missions help the cooperative.
I've been playing for a good while & each time I work on my farm I automatically do missions as I work on other things.  I just realized that I don't know why I do them.

Missions only help the co-op during the co-op challenge. The more rep points you earn, the more rewards will be earned. If you don't play missions every week a certain amount (10%, I think) will be deducted from your total rep points.

Playing missions on your own while the CC isn't active, can still be helpful to your co-op though. You will earn certificates from the missions that you can use to upgrade your tractors. Upgrading the Multifarmer and Earth breaker fully really help a lot to earn extra rep points and certs. :)

Thanks, Jess, for your help.  You answered my question.

Another bonus of missions, is that for everyday you play, you get $20,000! That adds up to a lot of cash by the end of the week. :)

    Thanks Dixie Daisy!

Well, technically it is true that you earn a lot by completing the tasks and receiving the cash rewards. However, when you wake up in the morning most, if not all, of your animals are ready to harvest. But you usually don't harvest your chickens, and ducks while waiting for an egg mission. And you also wouldn't harvest your cows and donkeys while waiting for a dung mission. So, you wait to harvest for the right mission.

If you get a corn or wildflower mission, you can harvest your chickens, because you can usually harvest those a couple times and still be ready when your egg or dung mission comes. But sadly, you may get field mission after field mission and you still haven't harvested your cows, ducks and donkeys.

If you play several hours, you still might not get a egg or dung mission, and there is when you lose money. Earning $20,000 a day becomes earning much much less, if you don't get the right missions and don't harvest your ducks, cows, and whatever else.

Also, most people don't harvest as much for the co-op projects as well during the co-op challenge, if they are holding for a specific mission that requires the same goods as the co-op project.

That's the reality of the missions. And now that the co-op challenges are more often, you don't use the humus and tractor benefits as much unless it is for the challenge. So, you end up spending most of your time, and the growth of your farm is mostly to benefit che co-op challenge. Unless of course, your co-op chooses not to participate every time the challenge comes around.

And, there is also more temptation to use gold during the missions, whether there is a challenge or not. Ultimately, ggs counts on that and milks it by having the challenges more often. You lose money, your farm grows slower, your co-op loses money needed for reputation boosters, your co-op doesn't climb the ranks fast enough, and each challenge and mission becomes more of a chore. People get burned out on the constant grind. That's why people complain about the frequent challenges, but ggs doesn't care.

People spend a LOT of gold during the challenge and ggs takes advantage of that. That is what greedy companies do - take advantage of any weakness that causes you to spend/buy more. Irregardless of whether their product/service is top-notch. Then encourage systems to allow peer pressure to make you feel like you don't contribute to the team if you don't jump thru all the necessary hoops to buy and spend and toil away hour after hour.

How much is that $20,000 really worth?

I think that ggs must be really disappointed in me....I don't buy gold.  I get a little with the videos....very little now...lol.  I haven't even gotten any videos the past 2 days.  That means that I have practically no gold to spend & I don't waste it on challenges.

You can play the game without gold. It is sometimes helpful to skip things, but plenty of people don't use gold in the game. But if you choose to use gold, that's fine too. The only reason for gold is so that GG can make some money. It really isn't necessary in the game. So don't feel bad.  ;)

Thanks Megan.  At times it would be nice to have a little gold....& not just to skip things.  You need gold to upgrade the Nursery.  I was going to use video gold for that.  And to take your dog to the last 2 levels it requires gold.  I got the workshop with video gold then found that it took over 9,000 gold to upgrade it only one level. I bought one house with video gold since it seemed better than a regular house, then I learned that it took so much gold to upgrade that I'm considering getting rid of it. (I bought the house & workshop when we were able to watch more videos & receive more gold....then it slowed down :-(  )
I need to be more patient & wait for the game to reward me with some gold...but I can't really blame them if they don't since it's how they make their money.

Hi Gin Here's a tip for Gold. Save up your Gold until you have 3500. Watch for the "Big Farm Deals", Omar some times will offer you a single Gold Mining License for 1500 Gold. Buy it and start it in your mine for 2000 Gold. Once completed you will earn 4000 Gold. 500 Gold profit !! Repeat as often as you can.

Wow, that's a very long comment you just wrote. ;)

If I had realized that this game was that complicated I probably would no longer play for enjoyment....lol.  I'm in a habit of clicking the mission button & playing as I would without it....unless it's convenient to plant a few fields of corn or flowers at the time.  I think I'll stick to my method.....It's a lot more enjoyable & I get some certs. for my tractors plus $20,000.  (I don't buy gold)
I need to keep things simple.  Simple things for simple minds......lol.

How do you know when Co-op challenges are happening?
  • @artistree.  A few days before, there is (used to be) an icon at the top of your farm with clasped hands and a countdown to when it will start.
