Hello GGS.
I understood only the first 24 coops get the super deco.
How is it with the happiness? Can the happiness be further increased with collecting snow flakes?
If yes does that also apply only on the first 24 coops and their decoration or does the happiness of the "common" Ice castles increase as well?
Thanks
Siabug
size of the coop. :7;29;42;65 members
eggs: 15,30;6,12;4,8;3,6 flocons avec les poulaillers
apple: 86,117;34,46;24,32;17,23 flocons avec les pommeraies
This makes the last week a little fairer to small coops, it's nice to know that it works like this
There are 4 visual/basic value types of deco, so you need to level up 3 times to get the highest visual. Since you have 4 attempts/weeks to do it, you can fail one week and still get the highest.
That debated phrase was just CM's way of saying, that even if people failed that first week when everybody was learning the mechanics of the event, it didn't destroy their chances to get to the highest visual of the deco. In other words, in anticipation the BF team gave us all 1 week to try and learn, and 3 weeks to nail it down and win, to succesfully get to the top deco.
And yes, this is not the best way to arange the final step. It would have been much better and gamer friendly if some increase in happiness was granted to all players based on snow flakes collected taking leveling mechanism into an account. But that's GGS. Trying to create overly competitive environment is one of the aspects that tends to kill the game for those who would rate themselves among true casual players without the drive to turn this game into their life accomplishment.
Although leveling the co-ops so that big ones lose their advantage and every co-op has presumably the same chances regardless of their size is certainly a step which is highly commendable.
But now we have to collect snowflakes and we never ever in our wildest dreams reach the top 24 with only 2 members in a coop, so i'm curious if they have a honest counting in the form of an average or something of that kind.
If not we can stop to spend to many hours in this game and spend some more x-mas time with the family.
I collect 18 snowflakes with eggs and 100 with apples so thats not more than the coop with 65 members
5 member coop - eggs 15 & 30 snowflakes, apples 86 & 117 snowflakes. So it is being adjusted according to the size of the coop.
You're coop is bigger but you also receive more snowflakes (I think) - I receive 100 snowflakes for 530 apples and 18 snowflakes for 45 eggs, so if I understand correctly what you wrote i am not receiving more snowflakes because my coop is smaller but even less.
I actually agree that what you say "may" be what is "supposed" to happen. That is exactly why GGS needs to speak up and clear all of this up.
Why doesn't someone from GGS admit they have made a massive mistake in the way this event is being finished!
You can already see the gap that is forming amongst the top few coops!
What a rubbish way to finish this event, 13 days seems a long week!
I think level affects it too, not just how many members, so low level players in small coops should be getting the best numbers from what I have seen.
why it isn't the same amount of snowflakes for the same amount and level of piggs I don't understand.
This way it seems they just doing something and don't even know for themselfs if it is the correct and hounest way
LOL give it time, I expect them to start popping up any minute! :P
What?!? You have to be kidding! What is the point in collecting snowflakes for 2 weeks if we have to be in the top 24 to benefit?
This is really sad......just sad!
So far so good - and in the meantime being very, very proud that our small coop reached the 8th place in the rankings after those first 4 weeks of Santa's List.
But ... but ... but ....
What a huge disappointment to discover that once again a heavily competitive character has been given to this last snowflake-collecting at the end of this event. Which undeniably means that once again only the biggest and/or top ranked coops who throw in the most gold will be the only ones to have a chance to ultimately get the animated "Frozen Crystal Palace". And all other coops actually do not really make much chance. Not a really friendly, peaceful Christmas thought, to stimulate all that competitiveness and rivalry IMHO. A huge downer on all the fun we had these last 4 weeks!
This was a very nice, clever and (at last!!) a bit more challenging event to play together with my coop members until yesterday midnight. It was all about figuring out the best strategy based on the right solidarity and cooperation. We needed to use our brains, we needed to talk things over again and again, we needed to cooperate more than ever, and we needed to bring offers for the greater good if necessary.... We were all very enthusiastic.
But now we are back to the huge competitiveness again! No brains nor planning a strategy needed - just a huge pile of gold.
In the real world already sufficient competitiveness and rivalry dominates life .... we could really do without it in a farm game!
And I second @Michiru (GB1)s question. What are we (the other coops who are already, at this very moment excluded from the first 24 places on the list) collecting those snowflakes for?? Will all those snowflakes add up to something else, if we don't win this "Frozen Crystal Palace" - like maybe more happiness points to our "Ice Castle"? I can't really believe that the majority of us is collecting these snowflakes for nothing.
I mean I am quite busy during these holidays (and can imagine many more people are) so I would really like to know what I am farming this much for - these past 4 weeks I knew what I did it for - now I don't know. All I know is that we, as many, many, many other coops will not get even the slightest chance to reach the first 24 places.
EDIT: Oh, I see ..... Latten has already given the so dreaded answer:
"The happiness will also only be awarded for the first 24 coops, I'm sorry
(see here: https://community.goodgamestudios.com/bigfarm/en/discussion/comment/2757870/#Comment_2757870 )
Which means that the majority of all players are collecting snowflakes for nothing! Huge, huge bummer!!
Can't be done that maybe the top 24 will get the highest deco, but at least the snowflakes will add happiness to deco's from all level coops? I think that would be fairer.
Regarding the snowflakes: Keep in mind that there will be more snowflakes for players in smaller cooperatives, so in the end, it should be a fair chance for everyone.
Alright, here goes:
Hey everyone, just in general: I collected all (or at least most) of your feedback and present it to our development team. Given the (lack of?) information we had before the event started and thus forwarded to you guys, we're also not exactly happy about how it turned out, and we're very sorry that a bunch of people aren't happy with this final event phase at all.
Don't forget though, that the Frosty Ice Castle is supposed to be the actual prize of the event, and a looot of coops managed to get it (or another cool decoration) out of it. If you got your castle, for all it's worth you already are done with the event, and got a great price out of it. And that's really cool.
The Frosted Crystal Palace, on the other hand, is supposed to be a "cherry-on-top" reward, a bonus for everyone who made it this far and is willing to compete for it even more.
I honestly do think this isn't too bad in the end, and the idea itself is pretty fun. However, I'm absolutely not happy with how badly all of this was communicated in the first place, and while there were internal communication problems as well, I won't blame anyone but ourselves, the CM team, in this case. We should have asked and questioned way more than we did, to be absolutely clear about this final phase ourselves, and we didn't. I'm really super sorry about this, especially since this was a holiday event of all things, and should be fun and joy for everyone, and I'll promise to be more thorough in the upcoming updates next year. I also, of course, promise to forward your criticism and feedback regarding this to the development team, so we can accordingly create an even better, more fun holiday event next year.
Please don't be too mad,
Timo
65 members x 3 snowflakes for eggs = 195 snowflakes
2 members x 18 snowflakes = 36 snowflakes
65 members x 14 snowflakes for apples = 910 snowflakes
2 members x 100 snowflakes for apples = 200 snowflakes
sorry, but I see a huges difference, its impossible to get anywhere near the top 24 with a small coop.
Why do upgrades if there are many things that could improve the game play with less clicking, less faults in upgrading/destroying and more of these things?
Already quit being a mod for the lack of improvements on forum, now the lack of improvements (and most updates) on the game is a good time for me to start searching for another game. You won't see me for at least a couple of weeks writing on this forums.
