Please do something with these questions to be answered in the 'Unanswered' inbox (besides us getting the wrong language, that may have been solved already and that is not even the problem for me). When I type an answer, the thread will disappear from the inbox, but the inbox tab will keep showing the number of unanswered posts. A thread will also pop back up when somebody else writes in it. It will only actually go away (including the count on the tab decreasing) when somebody selects one post as the answer to their question, and people do not understand that or never return to it so that inbox keeps on telling me I have threads while there are none when I click on the tab!! It is driving me batty -.- I hate seeing that I have new unanswered threads or whichever new and I cannot view what is new so I cannot get rid of it!
  • There's also a problem with the search box - I'm on the EN forum but when I search for something which is a common word in all forums (like XP) the posts it finds include German, French, Spanish, which are obviously from different forums - why does it not just search the EN forum?

  • I think it is because you have a avatar. Probably that reason. Happens with most players with avatars.

I've got one more: get rid of those darn disagree buttons!!! I hate that people press a fricking disagree button to a message in which I simply quoted somebody and said I agree! There is a reason Facebook does not have a dislike button... (Unless they listened to those whiners and added one.) Anyway, the reason is that people can simply click away and ignore if they do not like it and click 'like' if they do! I never click dislike on Youtube because I just don't listen any more and click away. I only click like if I actually really like the video. Nobody is helped by seeing somebody disagreed with them and they have no clue why that was. Let them type they disagree, with a reason, that is much better than these stupid anonymous buttons! Besides, it is a nice way for the less happy kind of people to pester others and ruin their day. Very easy to annoy somebody and stay anonymous...

And in case somebody wanted to get rid of bad/inappropriate messages by pressing disagree, there is a flag button for that... So no reason for a disagree button!

Now you may go ahead and disagree with this. Go on, hit the button. It's a nice toy, really. You know you want to...

    *rant off*

Edit: I wanted to add that I think we should be nice to eachother and try not to create this negative atmosphere. Dislikes, in my opinion, do create a negative atmospere. And they do not really add anything either. So why have them?

Edit 2: Another addition. People who get a dislike may feel really powerless, since they cannot do anything to state their case for the people that disagreed. They also do not know why the other pressed disagree. That feeling can be really bad, especially for those that have hard times in their real lives and came to the forums to have fun and feel a bit of relief from real life pressure.

Yaaaay! I got to be the first "Like" for your post, Larino!  You're absolutely right!
Oh, by the way, it was just announced recently that Facebook is going to add a Dislike button! Why allow others to express hatred of someones opinion? Doesn't make sense to me. I haven't figured out the new forum as well as some have, but I do know one thing, it seems to me to be a much colder and sterile format. Not nearly as welcoming or user friendly as our old forum was. I did notice that the timer on the Edit feature is no longer there, at least for me. I'm not really sure if that was because of player feedback or whether it's supposed to work but doesn't! LOL  B)

Yes I just checked upon it. It will not be a dislike button, but a respect kind of button. The owner took 9 months to manage to find a button that would put all the dislike and respect and I'm sorry emotions in one button. So no, it is not a regular dislike or disagree, something more complex than that and I am really happy he at least put so much thought in it, no matter how it is going to turn out. At least he understood that a simple dislike button would not do the trick.

And they have deleted that edit limit because of feedback, one of the officials told us ; )

Thanks for your post with reasoning, and not just a like : D!

@Larino I'm not a big fan of the disagree button either. If I see something I don't agree with, I'll either post my opinion or keep on moving along. I haven't clicked disagree on any post and never will. That shows up on our profiles and I'm not interested in giving someone a bunch of disagrees. I currently have 1 disagree but that doesn't bother me considering how many players are on the forums. If only one disagrees then I must be doing pretty good LOL.

Question: What happens if you click Flag? I have been wondering about it but I was afraid to try it out because I thought it might mean reporting abuse to the CMs. I didn't want to get anyone in trouble to satisfy my curiosity.

I completely agree, nothing to add! It makes no sense whatsoever to bring any negativity to this forum, especially not in an anonymous way or button. You are so right Larino and thanks for posting this!!! :+1:

And for @-Eiskalt- (DE1):  Du bist immer willkommen Eiskalt! Genug Spieler, die Deutsch lesen können und wir haben noch immer Google Translate, nicht wahr?  :)

@jess_d (US1) the flag is supposed to (if enough flags have been applied, don't know how many we need, maybe one is already enough) hide a message temporarily until a mod or CM has handled it and removed it or unflagged it if there was nothing wrong with it. Usually used for inappropriate messages to make sure not too many people are exposed to them before an admin or mod can deal with them.

Exactly, Eis. I will translate. Eis says: everybody handles these disagrees differently and some can really be bothered by them and feel bad about them. And even when nobody understands Eis, she definitely wanted to say this.

Thanks, Larino, that's good to know! In the old forum, all we could do when someone went wild posting obscene language was to PM our Mods. If the flag feature works, we can work together to prevent kids from seeing such filth.

I am not a fan of the disagree button either.  I have 1 disagree and I clicked and was able to see what post got the disagree.  The thread was one that was getting heated anyway so I back out of the conversation.  Mostly I try to figure out what I would or wouldn't say if I was face to face with someone and go from there.

If you click on flag you have to choose spam or abuse, I haven't gone further than that, as I wasn't sure what it would do.  It needs more choices imo because it could just be someone sharing personal information such as an email address or phone #.  I found one like that and gave them instructions on how to send a private message instead.

monica1230 (US1) and hope CMs will read this! This Flag button could indeed do with some more choices as Monica describes! :+1:

Edit: I clicked Flag then spam. I refreshed the page and could still see the post. It had a 1 next to Flag. I was able to unflag it though. :)

I am game I flagged Larino's post as spam, shall we try and see if it takes more than one person flagging to work?  Someone please make sure we don't get in trouble for our test

    TEST  (in consultation with Pinjo/Mod)

OK - I flagged Larino's post too, to test - but it only had 1 flag when I looked at it. It should have 3 now imo (@jess_d, @monica1230 (US1)  and me). I chose "spam", too....

Maybe later we should try another round and test on the word "abuse"... You are welcome to try it on this (my) post.

EDIT: OK, so Dara flagged my post. First thing I can tell you, is that I can't see that flag at all, it doesn't show. Maybe that's supposed to be: that the receiver doesn't know he/she is flagged??

I just flagged your post with abuse, but I cant see that it was flagged before either. it shows that I'm the first to flag your post with abuse.

Yay, mine is buried! Does that mean it is dead? : P

I do have 5 spam's on my profile now though... >.> Will I get a badge for that? : D

Btw, I claimed Jiesta's test post as abuse too now : )

Hmmm - that means that it takes 5 flags to get somebodies post buried. But then, if I click that "so called buried post", it pops up again and everything is readable again.

My post should show 2 flags for "abuse": Dara and Bablou - but it shows only 1 flag.

Hmmm - I think this flag button could be of good use (but seldom necessary I hope) but I don't know what to think of a buried post popping up again when you click it. Wouldn't this black bar with the word "buried" on it just trigger more to click it?

Larino: sosolli we broke your posty!  :(

Ooooh!! And I wanna badge for 5x "abuse" too, gimme gimme badgy!!  Só much for our reputation, Larino!  :p
