Confused/frustrated about happiness values

It has been confusing/frustrating to me that on one hand Tessa. Lester, or George tell us to have more decorations, fewer houses. But yet in the next new task or so, they tell us to add more houses. You can't have it both ways.

it's the have your cake and eat it too. It is actually quite interesting that you only find happiness through decorations. That it is linked to production. The game doesn't allow you other ways to accumulate happiness. As in why do you not get happiness points for talking with your workers, or petting your dog, or brushing your horse? or lounging in your lounge chair. As in you are not rewarded for 'taking a break' (i.e going offline). Lol. Your workers only have money or stuff to offer, and this is the only way that you can interact. The dog is happy but it gives you level up points, not happiness points (or even sadness points for that matter). But then who would click on a sad worker, to take on 'the burden' of their sadness? I was just thinking about this last night actually. Thanks for posting this!

Your dog does actually give happiness & when he is hungry the happiness disappears, that is why it is important to feed your dog before you start any productions (if he is hungry) - Level 7 doghouse is +75 happiness.

You also get happiness from your fence, gate & Retro classic farm machine, so you should always keep those as upgraded as possible.

My workers might be happy, but it does not make me happy to spend $ 1,200,000 to upgrade a fence that does not even include the gate. Just for the gate, you have to spend $ 460,000.

To upgrade a chicken coop from level 3 to level 4 costs $ 70,000 and you only get
1 extra dung and 2 extra eggs.

We should be getting a lot more for our money.
