JVD  thank you so very much for sharing this information you are a sweetie.  My thoughts on this job center are anything but sweet will never ever buy into this lunacy.  Thank you again you saved me alot of time.

Thank you JVD for all the info on the job centre. :)
But, I think I'm out as far as it all goes. It will cost way too much in village $$ to keep this up. I have no idea what GGS was thinking regarding it all, but there are going to be a lot of newer players and others who will just not bother any more. But I guess when you've got the amount of people playing the game as GGS obviously has, the little people, who like to have fun playing don't matter much coz they don't spend enough real $$ to buy gold.
Thanks for nothing guys. It used to be FUN. Nice to see you cared enough to listen to your own feedback in the survey's you have sent out.  :/

@MRG1 (US1)  my production costs in the village are -27% at the moment, so that probably accounts for the cost difference... depending on what yours are.
does the upgrade of the job center cost any village happiness?

@debj (GB1) if you dismiss a specialist he is removed from your personnel dept. you then would need to hire again to have use of him.

@T.O.P. (INT1) yes, the upgrades of the Job Center cost happiness just like the other buildings. :(

There are times it is better to just plant crops to clear the field than it is to use a specialist... you decide based on what is needed for your field.

I have about 9 folks in my Personnel Center from winning Village Challenges. Because I "bought" them with VC winnings, they are $0 to use. How do I get the folks in my personnel center to my fields? When I try to hire them from the personnel dept I get an error message. It appears I am being forced to use the folks from the Hiring Center. Is this a glitch? Thanks so much!

@Sallie13 (US1), you need to go to the village, click on the job center and click on "manage specialist" on the ring, there you can "hire" your people that you have purchased and they will then show up on your field ring to use!

let me know if you have any other questions... :)

Thanks for the quick response. I did exactly that, but I get the error message in an orange box, saying Invalid blah blah blah. I guess I need to copy it to Tech support, right?

I am sure you have tried closing the browser and reloading the game, cleared cache and all that... if so and you still cannot get them on your field ring, yes, I would take screen shots and send in a support ticket... :(

you are very welcome and good luck :)

  • I am having same problem.   I go to job center and click on manage specialist (purchased from VC winnings) and try to hire a specialist and get orange warning box.  this has been happening for about a month.  I thought maybe I could only hire so many specialist regardless of sand, rock, or water.  SO I waited till none were hired and still get this error message. Now I can not hire any specialist.  I know I can keep planting stuff in field, but a specialist can shorten the time the field in not 100% and can get more (clay, sand, whatever) with specialist also.    any ideas as to why?
  • @lelkilroy (US1)
you can hire a specialist directly from the field you want to clear...no need to use the job center for hiring and no error messages

thank you for responding, but it isn't as easy as hiring from a field -- well it is but hear me.
I have purchased a small number of specialists using the Ribbons we get from Village Challenges.  If you look at the pic in my previous post - you will see the specialist behind the warning box has 0 for price on the first 6 jobs.   If I hire someone from the field then I have to pay farm currency to hire them.  I would like to use the few I have that I don't have to pay for.  I have to go to the job center to hire them initially.  When I try to do that - I get the error message I documented in the picture.   I do NOT get the option to hire them from the field.  Only other way I know of to hire them is thru the job center.  IF there is a 3rd option, please tell me.    I would like to use the specialists I got with the ribbons but can't seem to find a way to "hire" them.   I was able to use one for rocks prior to always getting the message so it was possible at one time to do it thru job center.

  • Ok, great.  You've taught us the Job Center 101 basics.  Now can you explain why my level one specialists that I redeemed with Village Medals don't work with our level 6 Job Center?  They are still in my inventory, but I can't use them.   Thanks.

I have the exact same problem, with the same message! So glad I'm not the only one. Has anyone gotten a fix or an answer yet?

I have a question about purchasing a specialist for clay, stone, sand. at the Worldchampion trader.
Does anyone know if this is a temporary specialist that you can use just a few times like when you hire on at the jobcenter. Or is this specialist permanently on your farm, and will you receive in future more clay stone etc

@tatatatatatata (NL1)  They work just like the ones you buy in the job center, but generally are better quality specialists.

If you don't want to change coops, you can work on upgrading the job center yourself. Even one item donated every 24 hours will take care of the break costs. You also might try messaging your coop team, explain what happened, and ask for help. I don't think anyone in our coop uses the job specialists, but we do upgrade the center now and then. Good luck!

just a quick question : I hired a pump mechanic (wet field) but NOT from the village  Job Dept, but from the TRADER with WWC coins.

I can't find him/her anywhere in any inventory tabs, or field rings or rewards page, nada! where oh where could my mechanic be????

I bet its obvious and I'm missing it right?
    thank you,

The Job Center has a pump mechanic for 1 gold coin until Job#7, then gold is 4,000+  is that what I bought with WWC coins?  Why should I pay again?
This is very confusing (sure wish CBF was here:-((   )
thank you for your time helping this old farmer.

    @cornycorn00 (US1)

Do you already have a pump mechanic hired? if so, you either need to discard him or use him up to be able to hire the one you bought.

    No you don't rebuy him!!!

I wish CBF was still here as well :)

Yes I fired 1 mechanic to make room for the Trader mechanic and that's when I saw Babs for  gold.  Sometimes it takes a bit of time for items to show up in a player's inventory ..so I'm going to wait and see.
    thanks again JVD :-))
