Sorry if this is in the wrong category to post this in but I'm tired and fed up after spending many hours today trying to get my game to open in the Flash stand-alone browser. My computer updated overnight and now this browser just does nothing.  Is anyone else having the same problem?
Are you using Chrome as your browser?

Many thanks for your replies....I think I know what I did wrong, just need to see if there's a way to bring it back. When playing in the stand-alone, for some reason known only to the stupid side of my brain I decided to see what would happen if I switched from flash to html.  Of course nothing happened just got the message to restart, which I didn't do and  played on.  I'm certain I closed the browser several times since then and was able to get back in.  Suddenly, when I click on the file link...nothing.  Chrome is my default browser.

EDIT...Having spent today, uninstalling, reinstalling, running malware and virus checks, cursing, weeping etc, I have at last discovered that.......I'd been clicking on the wrong file link.

    Thanks @RowdyRac:*

Sorry @whiziwig - I already have version 31 and it has problems with BigFarm. I was using an earlier version before my system updated it but could not remember which one.

    Cheers, Jay

    Hi Farmers!

After the HTML5 switch the standalone Flash player will no longer function after a while. Initially it may still work and you may still be able to play the game, but by the end of February this will no longer be a possibility. Please make sure you have upgraded your browser to the latest version in order to get the most out of the HTML5 version of the game. We apologise to those who enjoyed using the standalone Flash player but unfortunately Flash is no longer supported and as a result the Flash player will also not function any longer.

As per usual, the Big Brains at GG have decided to fix another problem that didn't need fixing, and haven't addressed the nagging problems that tend to crop up on a regular basis throughout the game.  The real problems, as usual have been ignored. HTML5 has not worked properly from the start, GG should try to fix one problem before adding another  :((   :((   :((

please help, my big farm will not work with html,  i am using chrome. my farm just stands still. i have a brand new computer.

Ok i have no tried firefox and that didn't work either. i've update my chrome and that didn't work. I guess this means that for those of us that cannot use this Html5, we can no longer play the game....

@rie22 (US1) unfortunately, in the next year or so there will not be Flash to work with, it is being discontinued by Adobe... so html will be the only way to play... :(

@rie22 (US1) let's hope with the Big Update tomorrow things improve for those with the html issues playing the game... not just the little bugs!

I am one of the lucky ones I guess, game runs pretty smooth for me (other than the little bugs) and I have been playing in it since introduced and my computer is a couple years old... wish I knew why the experience is different for each of us!

Sadly I fear we may lose a lot of players/friends for whatever the reason is that the html5 does not work on their computers :(

Luckily standalone flash will continue to work until late February so I will continue to use that until it is no longer an option. Playing on HTML isn't pleasant at all.....there's lag, time delays between clicks, popups loading incomplete, Village Fair screen is black with a few numbers and barely readable.........nothing good about it at all. There's a lot of fixes that need to be made because it is nowhere near ready in my opinion.

thanks JVD, i dont thing the new version is going to work on my computer. my windows automatically updates itself.  when i switch to the Htlm5 my stupid farm just sits there. i can do nothing.  it works perfect with flash.  I guess i am done with the game once and for all. I knew something someday would do it.  GGS is not going to help. not a word from them on how to fix this...they are definitely williing to lose some of us over this...that is how it has always been. and I've learned there are more important things anyway....

As far as I'm concerned this HTML  BS,  is exactly that  ( B frigging S )   " A HUGE LOAD OF CRAP "  In other words IT SUCKSI've been playing Big Farm for about 4 years now I'm at level  236, and other then the  " Usual Bugs " over the years it's been fine, This new HTML does not work properly,  all kinds of screw ups, like for a while I couldn't get my curser to work,  and also when I want to retrieve my dog house items, after feeding, I keep getting a stupid warning telling me that it is an illegal action ? ? ?   GO FIGURE.   And I seem to get that a lot in HTML mode,  WARNING ILLEGAL ACTION,  CODE  bla  bla  bla   :((  CRAP.    Seems ok if I stay on FLASH. And,  I try to stay on FLASH,  But the game keeps putting me back on HTML.  It's really irritating, to the point that I'm starting to get fed up with this game. I played Good Game Empire for over a year and it kept screwing up so I just stopped playing. I'm now getting close to doing the same with  Big Farm. It's unfortunate because I've put a lot of Time and Effort into this game I'm a level 236 and that means a LOT of work.  VERY  VERY   SAD

They've been on holiday (hence little change of late) but with this latest update, they're fixing many HTML major bugs. Wait till after the update before complaining.

    I agree @Rusty Farmer (AU1) let's  see how it goes :)
  • Is this one faster than Flash Players?

for my computer, it is the worst update. it takes double time to care my farms comparing with Flash. Is this only my own problem? how can I make it faster?

  • My computer (I built it myself) turns 9 years old this year. Both my sister & I use it close to 20 hours a day. HTML is working just fine on Chrome on the US server, a tad slower on Firefox but still ok. We still get lag on HTML on the INT server so have been using flash standalone for those accounts. We're going to try them again after this update and hopefully won't get too frustrated. Good luck & happier farming everyone!

I agree rie - it is something GGS end.  I cant play html/mac/big farm.  52 seconds to harvest the bakery! 28 seconds to harvest a field on the main farm, yet it whizzes through the candy farm and co-op village.  I play other online games using html and mac, and they all work fine.  Browser is chrome, cache is cleaned etc etc etc Like plenty of others I dont want to leave the game, but unless they make it playable on a mac I will have no choice.  I renewed my subscriptions on 22nd - and have asked about a refund, but silence is the only response I have got - wish I hadn't bothered now - if they cant even acknowledge, even if its to say ha ha no way, your loss, it would be something it speaks volumes to me.  Yes I know flash is going and they have to move to html, but at least they should have made sure it works for all users first.

How can people who travel a lot still play the game on there tablets?? Since Puffin app no longer works and the suggestion of using Chrome and setting it as desktop mode in the settings doesn't seem to work either. I get logged in and the screen flashes a lot then website crashes. Please help because I want to still help my coop while traveling which is pretty much 5 days a week :(
  • The flash link does not work, it says file not found, and I can't play without the flash.
The game does not work properly without it. Like some others I have read, I can't
find my cursor and the game just does not work like it is supposed to. Like others I
have been playing this game for years. Please bring back the flash.
