    I get contracts with lobsters now and then, and they are good money when you need to sell fish off. :)
    really? i've never seen a lobster contract ever and turn them over all the time

    lobster chum comes up, very rarely for me, but that's not worth spit tbh, better off selling lobster straight than making chum (unless you make it for the FXP - which it's excellent for that)

    @Corvid (GB1) - I've seen one of two. They are extremely rare, though. And even when I do find a contract that wants them, it's only for a couple hundred at most.

    But that's ok.. they come in handy for spinning on Santa's Wheel. I can spin even day for a month just on my Lobsters. :)

    Oh No! @amber3 (INT1) that is what I was afraid of - Some people have reported a bug whereby when they open the worskshop for the first time that day, it is taking about 200 gold off of them (we now see it is 240), when I saw the screenshot from @uksharon (GB1)  showing 240 gold on the expired timer, I wondered if maybe you two had the same bug, but for you it was stuck because you had no gold, the fact that it took your gold when you did have some, confirms that now - Don't worry about the 240 gold, you will get that back. 

    Sharon, no I do not expect you to buy gold to unstick it, from what happened to Amber that would work & you will get it back, but instead can you try the usual things, like switching browsers or a private browser window, or switch to HTML (or Flash) see if you can get it to unstick that way.

    Santa has locked his doors for me too. I tried switching browsers, clearing cache and swapping between html/flash, but it just won't work.
    I think Santa must have just decided I've been mean this year! :lol:

    Santa is taking 240 gold each time. just happened again and switching from HTML TO FLASH or otherwise dont work.

    Now people are saying they've been charged gold every time they play. I haven't been paying attention, but if that's true, we're all due some serious gold, not some balloon decos.

    As far as I can see, there is no gold involved as long as you do not try to spin more than once every 24 hours.

    The problem is probably that people do not understand how it works. The mechanics are so fuzzy, GGS is just counting on people not understanding and spending gold for a lousy deco.
    I stopped trying to fully grasp how it works....just spin once a day.

    You are lucky to get to spin once a day. I seem to only get a timer telling me i.e. right now 3:23.05. Have only been able to spin two times these days. Guess the free spin disappears after a certain time (?) and I missed it. *shakes head* I am not setting the alarmclock for this event. Makes no sense having to do that.

    Yep, happened twice to me today, just opening the workshop took the gold, the first time I heard the "spending gold" sound and didn't even figure out what it could have been, just happened again :s . Will have to stay well away from it. :/

    I wish you were right, but if you read the posts on other threads, along with Wing's comments, it does seem to be a bug, and it seems to be widespread. :(

    you could do that,, or you could use oleg's fish which is much cheaper to use (ie money you're 'losing' donations wise - bass and grouper are cheap as chips), but depends on what people have and how much  of it they have on hand etc, as long as you're getting what you want from your produce, all good

    I was one of those people that could not spin unless I paid gold, so I do hope I get it back, if not I won't ever use that again nope.

    Same here. I will lost some gold just when click it at parking lot every day. Just hope the gold that I lost will come back later!

    MRG is correct, it is around 250 (240 to be exact) - What appears to be happening is that as the amount of gold needed to wake up Santa, gets less & less, it is sometimes getting stuck on 240 & it is still on 240 when the timer expires, instead of being on 0.

    If you do not have 240 gold, you see the screen shown below, when you open the event & if you click it you get told to buy gold.



    If you do have 240+ gold, it switches to the other screen (the donation one) but takes the 240 gold when it does so.

    It does not appear to be affecting everyone, nor is it happening everyday, but the team are aware of it & it will be sorted out when they return

    In the meantime, if anyone figures out a way to unstick it & make the gold drop to 0 , please post your findings, we have tried all the usual things without any luck. Has anyone tried clicking through the number tabs from 9 back to 2? -  maybe that will give it a kick. :)

    I'm down an even 500 since Friday (have a screenshot), and who knows how much more from the time the Santa event started as we weren't aware of the problem.

    I lost gold too.  It's crazy how they keep breaking the game in ways that might make you spend real money.
    Getting very tiresome.  :(
