We have also had the phantom 12+ hour challenge starter.  Not really sure if someone isn't owning up or it is automatically happening.  It has happened twice so far, so once again calling for the starter to be named in chat and deputies and leaders only to start challenges.
I also think GGS has missed the mark on a potentially good event by lack of variety.  The apples, almonds and dandelions are getting boring very quickly.

My co-op on the US server has also had a couple of visits from the phantom 'long challenge starter'.  One of the deputies was the only one playing early hours of the morning when one suddenly started, and another has just started now.  We are now stuck for a few hours before we can start a challenge which suits our game and co-op levels.

The lag is horrendous on this game compared to the games on facebook, it is about time ggs got something done about it and cleared all the bugs in the game, i am no longer impressed with the way they treat players especially us that have spent a lot of money playing this game from the start, no other game i have ever played as been this bad. Dont think i will be wasting another penny on this game until it is sorted and if not soon i shall just go play another game. Players will only stand for so much before they move on.

Our Coop isn't ever doing Village Fair.  It just makes no sense to stretch resources that far.  Oktoberfest is really draining us.  Many have quit that as well.
  • TAKING THE STRESS OUT OF THE VFC

This is what we have worked out. So Just FYI

While there are many things about the VFC to stress out about, CWC has opted to discuss the Challenges like this ---

We need to avoid Stressful Challenges, like:

---High Performance Scores (PS are the numbers posted beside the other Co-op's name when selecting)

---Too Short-time periods when too few players on-line

---Too Long-time periods when many players are on-line and want to play

Our best VFC are those with:                                 (Note: Leader sets Criteria based on Co-op's strength)

---Difficulty - we can do VFC from 0000 PS to 00000 PS, so choose one between these numbers

---Duration - choose a VFC from X hours/min to X hours; with XX hours for overnight

When you choose a VFC, be sure it fits these criteria. Too difficult or too long/short Challenges are poor for our Co-op's morale. All players can choose VFC, but Deputies keep it going so we are always doing one.

Dealing with the STINKER VFC (and there are soooo many of those!!):

Remember, we don't have to finish a VFC to get points. We don't loose any points, so whatever you add to the VFC counts and helps the Co-op move forward. Do what you can and let it go. Please don't spend gold or resources. Save those for other events.

    Hope this helps a little.

    Happy Farming!

So now I see there's a Village Fair wheel? How long until the same situation as the CC where players can simply spin up millions of points and win the event without even starting a challenge? Its even more ridiculous the VF wheel doesn't even have gold licenses so people are throwing away tokens for nothing.

ehhh have I misunderstood? Aren´t they simply % bonus points to use when doing a challenge? In other words not of much worth unless one does a challenge?

    Cheers :)

What I meant is now that they have introduced a wheel for village fair I think its just a matter of time before they update it to encourage spinning and gold use just like the CC. It may seem harmless now but I expect it may start giving village points for top 5 spinners, large points that will influence the final result. Maybe i'm just being negative and thinking ahead too much but with GGS track record I dread where this is going. Hope im proven wrong though....

*singing* Always look on the bright side of life ....  ;)
Can´t say I remember GGS changing any of the other wheels, but then again I haven´t studied them.

    Keep smiling :)

I am curious, you write: quote " no other game I have played ..." May I ask what game(s) that is/are?

I too have played several different online games and they have all had issues and members complaining/shouting. Tbh I was pleased by the few issues BF had when I started playing it a couple of years back. With them endlessly implementing; things have changed in that department unfortunately. The game has grown too big opening up for things to go wrong.

    Cheers :)

Even if it requires a coop to play the challenge, it still adds up in points if all players spin the wheel and each gets 25% boost of points, right?  There shouldn't be any of that as part of the game.  GGS though doesn't seem to understand that competition usually means personal hard work, and hard work as a team.  Instead, they allow players to "buy" their game.  It really is not quite right to do that to everyone.

Believe it is 0.25% for the player and not the co-op. Am I wrong?

Takes alot of spinning and coins to get 100% ;)

    Cheers :)

Big spenders don't really care how much they have to pay.  Being in the top spot is what is important to them and it doesn't matter how they get there.  So, let's say they all spin and win even 1% extra over others?  That is only wining that wheel 4 times each to get that little bonus.  That is a total of 1% per player base.  So, lots of points in the end that others may not have.  Either way, these extra bonus "buy your way" points should not be a part of this game.  Hard work personally, and coop members combined should be what dictates where in the game rank each player and coop is.

Members at my co-op are not big spenders by a long shot, just play easy and relaxed and rank 14. Just by starting a challenge asa one has ended and by playing like usual without spending gold or seaweed. We are in it for the benefits that drop every so-and-so points. *laughs* winning is not our aim. Getting some of the goodies is.

Tbh we are pleased actually being at rank 14 :) But it is not all that important.

    Cheers :)

PS forgot so am editing it in now. I am grateful for the big spenders, if it were not for them then there wouldn´t be a game. Can´t run it for free, you know. So by not being a huge gold buyer myself, I accept that those who do pay alot and by that keep the game running deserve to win. They make it possible for me to continue playing the game. How I see it ;)

Does anyone know why the lower right counter is not moving at all?? The middle one, with my personal winnings are counting just right, but what happens to the other one??

yes i have over 150 games on steam,  all sorts, i dont get no lag from any of these and you need a pretty good computer to play them. I never used to get lag when this game first came out but it i is just too laggy now you can no longer collect quick etc in missions.

I thought I read in previous corporate propoganda that the village fair was supposed to replace one of the never ending CC's yet there are 3 on the October calendar and talk of another village fair??  Really???  Is the object truly just to burn everyone out that they no longer care about the game?

The way they present changes and additions is deceptive most of the times

The village fair replaces the Village League (now removed) which was a failure. Hardly anyone cared about the village league.
GGS has designed the fair as an event instead of a permanent part of the game to trigger participation.  The event is time demanding, and resource hungry, not at all a relaxing and enjoyable event.  Hence the need to present it in a deceptive manner, present it as something good, a remedy to replace some of the CCs which people complain about.

The truth is we get both village fair and CCs but they hope to avoid the initial harsh criticism with their deception, after a while people get used to anything, or leave the game, as it's happening more and more often

  • I personally would much rather have the old co-op challenge back. No timer, you can choose the items you want to harvest and the total amount where doable.

    @Tweety Farm (US1)

    That starts tomorrow. :)

As for "Doable", try a 30-minute challenge with a "difficultly" level (the number under the challenge name) of 20 or less. Those are easily completed, even with only 1 person doing all the work.

I find we get more points from those (especially because we get the 200% point bonus every time) than we do the longer challenges. Only drawback to them (IMO) is that you only get the first 2 challenge rewards (10 pink fertilizer and a 0.25% field bonus) instead of the more lucrative rewards for a longer challenge.
  • Someone started a 12 hour mission toward the end of the village fair and the amounts of product were staggering, I figured on one that you would have to have a ccop of 51 people playing the entire 12 hours without stop to get the number required.  That just totally turned me off the village fair and just ignore it now.  It has to be achievable without spending my life savings or players just get discouraged.  The village league was achievable, the village fair is not. .

Agreed.  We enjoyed the strategy of Village League.  We don't play Village Fair after the first few attempts. Running it along w/ Oktoberfest and other events makes it impossible for a small, low level coop to enjoy.
