Update April 19th - Matilda's Farm School & XP Rework discussion

  • I don't have Farm School. Therefore the last two digits of the XP for the ship must be "00".
    Is it a BUG?

Why must they be 00? If it was an old XP value, on an upgrade or task etc then yes, I agree that converting it to the new system by x100 those numbers will all end in 00, but for new XP amounts added to the game I don`t see why they would all have to end in 00.... Or am I missing something?

Important: All XP values in the game have been multiplied by the factor 100, so we can properly add the bonuses from this building.

No value relations have been changed. This of course goes for every XP value in the game, level-up points, rewards, harvests etc.
I think if ALL XP values in the game have been multiplied by the factor 100, so last two digits of all XP must be "00" without SCHOOL.
  • @Alice_Telles (INT1)

It looks like they used to calculate the dollar value, then divide by 2100 to get the experience value.

    173000 / 21 = 82.380952381

Dropping the fractional part gives 82.

    Now they divide by 21.

    173000 / 21 = 8238.0952381

    Which becomes 8238.

  • @FunnyWalker22 (US1) You are so right.  What I think GGS is failing to grasp is that by alienating non-gold players, they are cutting off potential sources of income.  Some players, like myself, enter the game with a "try-before-you-buy" attitude.  But when the playing field becomes that uneven, making the game no fun unless you shell out the bucks, potential cash cows give up before they even open their wallets.

I agree. I was just looking at what I could do with the new mill to get better feed. It cost a fortune to level up. There are 100 levels. I use my "beverage" allowance to purchase gold, and I think I am not going to buy anymore. I have only been playing a year, but long enough to see that non-gold or low-gold players are quickly being eliminated.

It hasn't updated info when you hover over premium feed either before pressing it. It says 100Xp instead of 102 for instance, though it does actually give 102.

That sounds like it's consistent with the Announcement, which said:
    - XP drops will show the complete amount of earned XP (regular + bonus XP)
    - Game menus will show the regular amount of XP, without added bonus XP

I hope they get round to changing that; we see the bonuses from the library.
  • Thank you Flittermouse (US1)
    I understand it.

Hey let's talk about the market NOT PAYING the new multiplier XP?
Not all of the contracts give out XP. I have not heard of anyone else having this issue, but I will pass it to our bug team to test it out to make sure everything is working as intended.

I also have to say that I completely understand why some of you are a bit upset with the prices of upgrades to the new buildings. You are right that they will give paying players an advantage when it come to competitions, but you have to remember that all competitions in this game are completely voluntary. You can easily advance in the game without ever competing against any other players. In the free to play world, players that are willing to pay are always given an advantage in one way or another, and I think the balance in Big Farm is quite good. I am actually a free player, and I still find the game very enjoyable.

It is expected that in a game the playing field isn't level. There are always some players more gifted then others or more cunning then others.  We or I understand that, but the playing field isn't geared to a particular team, if you put the effort in you can succeed.  Big Farm is gearing itself toward the money players team.  I understand why this is the way they are going and as stated previously they have the right to make money.  I don't mind them giving those that want it the easy way a way to do it.  What I resent is making it harder for me because I am not willing to expand the real cash to use their gold to expand.  I am level 87 I've gotten there using gold to speed land purchase, hurry up construction and every now and then  to attempt a mission,by using seaweed humus to do it and while doing this it I came to the conclusion that I was being an idiot because this is after all a game.  But what they are asking for at this point is so blatant it's almost obscene.  The question is why are they pricing the advances to minimal cash players out while catering to the serious money players.  All I am asking is reasonably fair treatment.  I wonder if they have thought of this if the game is to easy for cash players how long will they stick around to play while those of us that are being giving the shaft will start thinking why are we playing when they obviously don't want us?

  • Okay, I haven't seen an answer to my question (originally posted in "Players asking players"), so maybe it got kinda lost because it was merged with this topic, so.....:
Before this update I thought the experience points we got as a reward from the Organic Market were worth $5.000 each. With the changes we've had with this update, I can imagine Experience points rewarded for contracts have a different worth now.

Right now I've got a contracts that reward 633 and 663 XP points. If I were to go on the old price, the contract based on the XP alone, would be worth more than $3,000,000 while I get actual $1,200,000 in return for one contract and less than $500,000 for the contract with 663 XP.

So, what would you suggest the XP are worth now with these changes?

    Thanks for the help!
  • @Sheriziya (NL1)  I am still waiting for an answer about the market contracts XP too. I posted about the one I had for 208 XP, now I have one for 672 XP, neither of them make any sense as the XP I was getting before were double figures so should now be 1000s not 100s.

Thanks  Well, I guess we'll have to wait and see......

For now I'll keep the price for each XP in my calculations (to see if the order is worth filling) on the original price ($5,000) and see how it pans out :)

I'm somewhat sure that some contracts still are a bit buggy - let's wait for the ones appearing after today's update, since I know there will be some fixes to XP and market issues coming ^^
  • Not just the contracts. Yesterday I bought 4XP for $40000 from the little guy next to the market...

  • This is a question more for GGS
I've noticed that the Piggles event has started again today, but you only get 250 XP for completion which seems very low. Shouldn't this have been altered in line with the whole XP system being revamped?

    thanks
  • Since Video Show removed, there is no chance to get the surprise box.
Therefore, I want a surprise box instead of XP.

Piggles reward... say it gives you 250 xp and some seeds... shouldn't the xp be greater since the school has been installed in game, multiplying xp by 100? or did we get 2.5 xp points as a reward in the past?

I finished piggles earlier, and for some reason I received 275 xp, I have no idea what happened !!

I didn't finish yet the piggles but should be a mistake that old 250XP.
But earlier how @lthrrr  mentioned this means the new value of the XP or 2.50XP in the old (2.70 in her case).

Probably is a compensation with another thing from the game.
However I didn't remember to see any comments regarding the new weekly reward for the day with XP (second day of the week).
At my level usual every week I had around 88, 89,90,91 XP.
Now in the new format there are 35750XP (as example) or whatever around increasing every week (this means 357 old XP).
    Nobody comments on this?

Great job for noticing this one :))) There should be much more xp points!

And about piggies . it should be 25000 ,not 250 xp. ...hmm..GGS should really make some adjustments...
  • I do like the new buildings, but agree they are more suited to high level players who produce a lot and get cash they cannot spend otherwise in the game.  I also noticed that the pigglet event didn't reflect the correct xp (multiplied by 100), hopefully the moderators will bring up with the devs to fix and retro- adjust.

You must have a level 10 schoolhouse. 250XP x 1.10 (level 10 schoolhouse bonus) = 275XP. No error there. But, the reward is still woefully small.

  • I have a level 5 schoolhouse , but i received 250XP for finishing Piggles. I did not get 5% extra XP.
Besides that, 250XP is just a laugh, I get 1000XP for finishing a daily quest.
    This should be adjusted.

Hi Latten, is there an announcement of tomorrows update yet, and will anybody get the extra xp that should have been earned for Piggles?

Can't see much point for this building. Expensive/out of reach for low levels, useless for high levels. i thnk it could have been better if first levels were very cheap. Then low levels could use it as level up boost. Would suggest to go steep in high levels - but what for? We would need some content for high levels first to make it usefull. As it is it seems once again as not much more than an "incentive" for low levels to buy dollars for upgrades. :) I got it to L3, but no reason to go any higher - unless I want to just waste loads of dollars. :)
  • Cost of upgrading new building makes them not much help. So don't see them being used by average players.
Something else for the elite gold users and the very rich...
ex. farm lab level 4  4,587,000 dollars or 2,400 gold
academy level 3  500,000 dollars or 2,490 gold
How does GGS expect us to get to level 100 with pricing like this?

    Very disappointing...
Amen! I know that I will never be able to upgrade many of my buildings because of the cost. I live on SS and by no means can buy a bunch of gold and they sure don't give you much for free. Come on now GGS you think 50 gold for a level upgrade is a great bonus? NOT!

    Matilda's Farm

Come on what is the use for that? Once u get to level 104 there is no more incentives to keep leveling up, it becomes consequence of your hard work. and why speed up your leveling if everything gets harder after level 65? yep HW for example till level 65 u r competing against  people on your level after that will be u level 66 against level up to 999.

bottom line is GGS could not make money selling adds on the movieshow so they put something very expensive and more useless in its place.
