HAPPINESS % .. How's it calculated?

I've been messing about with my Decos, swapping them and putting them
into the Green Box, so that I can move other things around.

I notice that beyond 80% happiness you have to make major changes to
get another 1%. But at about 50% you have only to remove one flowerbed
deco for the % to fall considerably.

Is there any logical way to calculate how many more decos we need, to get from
say 80 to 85%.... ?

EDIT.... From what I've read below, To get from 80 to 85% requires 259 to 364
= 105 more happiness points... The equivalent of three BarBQ Decos (and the space to put them.)
