Humus is made from the leaves in the orchard. When you have enough leaves, click on the compostor and begin production of humus.

To use the humus when it is completed, click on a field that has already been sown and then click on the picture of the humus.

A cooperative is a group of people that have chosen to come together to complete challenges and research projects. Each member is expected to contribute time, farm dollars, collection items and often gold to achieve those goals.
    Cooperative1_zpsdc7b40f8.jpg

Cooperatives have a chat room where members can communicate as well as a "News board" where you'll often find the latest research project or task. Each challenge completed helps the cooperative level up, which often helps the cooperatives overall ranking among the other cooperatives.

An example of contributions towards a cooperative's task:

Research projects allow for all members of the cooperative to benefit. It could be through research that you have additional members added to the cooperative, which in then lessens the amount of farm dollars or gold that each individual needs to contribute towards future research projects. Research also increases the the amount of money you can sell your eggs, pigs, milk and apples for.

Overall the coop is several people together - you start with 5 possible members for the coop.In order to get more members or benefits like better prices for eggs, pigs, milk and apples the coop needs to be a certain level. You get these benefits by research, which needs to be paid for - you need a defined amount of researchers, which cost farmdollars according to your level (you need more farmdollars at a high level than at a lower level), plus farmdollars or gold from the coop account. Different researches are available at different coop levels. And in case there aren't enough coop members as researchers are needed, you can 'hire' one with gold.

To gain a higher coop level the coop starts projects where for example you have to harvest a certain amount of corn in a given time -each harvest of any of the members count towards that goal (the harvest stays with each player). To start a project collection items have to be donated by the members of the coops, it's depending on the difficulty and reward and kind of project which and how many of those collection items needs to be given.

The higher the coop level is, the more difficult will it get to achieve the project goals or to collect the needed collection items, and also research will need more researchers. And the more members the coop has, the better.

But that also explains why it needs a certain amount of communication - a coop project will for sure fail if people aren't aware half the coop is not around when a project is started. It's also a bit annoying if always the same people just don't participate at any research or don't donate any funds to the coop purse, or kick off projects and disappear into a long weekend.

How chatty a coop is for sure will depend on the people in it - or how much regulated or scheduled coop work is done. I also don't think all coops are mainly interested in ranking - but it's fun to work together to get the projects done, it's fun to work together to achieve the next level or the next goodie - and as a benefit on the side you get the company, the chatting (or not ;) ) and a bit higher farmdollar rewards for your harvests.

Nevertheless, if you're interested in a fast leveling of your own farm, I guess you'd do better without a coop - it is quite a bit of farmdollars that are needed for the coop, and these farmdollars aren't available to upgrade your own items. I think it slows down the own progress (but still I very much enjoy being part of a cooperative - the game is much less boring this way)

If you want to leave, you can just do that - but whatever you invested into the coop will stay there. Worst case is that you get kicked - and in that case also everything you invested is gone.

There are a few ways you can obtain gold. The easiest is to purchase it. If however you don't wish to purchase it, then you get gold every time you level up and by completing quests where gold is the reward. You will also find that you'll get gold on the 4th day of every 5 day cycle as long as you log in consecutively. The last option is to complete quests that have a gold reward.

Your workers happiness level on the farm is really important. The higher their happiness, the less farm dollars you pay out to run your farm so the higher your profit margin is. You want your happiness arrow to be as far in the green as you can get it. It means that you have a negative percentage (-), but that is exactly what you're after.

Building and upgrading houses decrease your workers happiness, where as building decorations increases your workers happiness. The trick is to balance out the buildings and housing you need with as many decorations as you can get on your farm.

If you wish to leave your cooperative, the only items you can take back are the unused collection items that you've donated. Any farm money or gold that you have donated stays in the cooperative's account.

Once you leave the cooperative, your farm no longer benefits from the cooperative's research improvements.

There are two ways you can do it, either you can ask in a thread or answer one that has a cooperative looking for members or you can apply directly to the cooperative themselves.

To do the second, click on the Multiplayer button, then on the cooperatives button and follow the prompts until you get to a list of cooperatives. The ones looking for members are marked with a magnifying glass.
    Cooperative4_zps9947205a.jpg

A suggestion when applying that way, put in the information window how often you play and anything else you feel will make them want you as a member of their team.

Also, not all cooperatives will "reject" your application if they decide not to take you in. Don't be disheartened, just keep applying to other cooperatives or you can decide to create your own.

Rose seeds are only obtainable from some Events like the Bees and Prime Day.

To plant them, click on an empty field and select the rose seeds.
    Cooperative5_zps2ecd97e1.jpg

To sell them, click on the Farm management window and sell them as you would any other item in there.

Luckily we have two really talented members that have collaborated to create a great program that allows you to organise your farm in the program then you copy the placement, reducing your farms down-time.

You can find the thread here.

Many thanks to Aisa who wrote the program and Berrchek who created the music for it!

To increase the number of members you can have in your cooperative, you need to research "Recruitment".

The research tab is the last tab in the cooperative window. In that tab, there are a number of drop down-windows. Each one has a different type of research that you can choose to do as a cooperative. "Recruitment" is located in the "Cooperative" drop-down window.

    You then:
    • Open up the selected research by clicking on it, then the Researcher details button
    • Each member has to either pay farm dollars or gold to buy a spot
    • Each member also has to donate enough farm dollars or gold to the cooperative account to cover the start up costs of the research

Once all the research spots are filled and the start up costs have been collected, either the leader or a deputy can start the research and it's then just a matter of waiting for the clock to count down. Once that's done, your cooperative can add 2 more members.

To add new members, you can either accept an application by going to the first tab of the cooperative window, clicking on the "Application" button down the bottom of the window and accepting a member that way. The other way is to manually send a player an invitation. Click on "Multiplayer", then on "Rankings" and enter the name of the player you wish to invite. Click on their name and in the pop-up window is a button to invite that player.

    Sending an invitation

To invite someone into the cooperative, click on the Multi player features button in game then go to the Rankings. Find the persons name on the list then click on their name to give you options. You want to select the option to invite them to the cooperative.

    Accepting an application

To accept an application, got to the first tab of your cooperative window and click on the Applications button. It's in the applications window that you have the option to accept or reject an application.
